Pakistan’s Japanese-dominated car market set to attract Europe and Korea

Their are plans from Mahindra with local Pakistani player to build Mahindra vehicle under licence but it shelved due to pressure from local assemblers on GoP.

... and to think that the company used to be called Mahindra & Mohammed (M&M) before Mohammed moved to Pakistan after partition. Mahindra should fully invest in assembling its range of rural-use jeeps, its sub-compact MUVs, its new SUVs, and of course, the Bolero, in Pakistan.

Hero group's Munjal, Hinduja group's are also have roots in Pakistan.

This is exhibition car... most likely designed by some Italian designer, but this is not under production.

Any Pakistani business man can make contract with Mercedes for Engines and import assembly unit and there you go, 10 times better than what any bharti can ever dream.

P.S.: In history Pakistan had all UK, European and American auto brands... which could be seen on roads of Lahore as late as 80's. This was a time when human powered rickshaw ride was a dream of every bharti.

Do you know the size of the engine... it will be minimum 3.5 liter @MastanKhan ... come and put some sense to the fan boys, here as well.

Yup.:tsk:

Few years back i always use to say that Indian Giants such as TATA should be allowed to invest in Pakistan, perhaps open a plant and start assembling the nanos. It would have given Pakistan certain advantages
To name a few
1) A new auto mobile maker which is cheaper yet advanced compared to shitty Mehran. More choice for the average buyer.
2) More jobs
3) Strategic impacts as well as Indian Giants will have a stake in Pakistan that means people like Ajit Doval out of business. Less hostility.

Indeed more business will promote greater ties BTW the countries

There is no fault of Japanese as they established JV with local partners who have good influence in GoP.
So, who does not want huge profit & monopoly without giving ToT by selling outdated models.
Even in India, Toyota launched Qualis when it even retired from market like Indonesia.
Local players TATA & Mahindra give them run for money so they stop Qualis & bring their latest Innova.

Plus what bad rep does VW have? VW dominates Europe and its on crusade to Asia, Hell VW from 1980's are still visible on British roads now that is successful!

Declining Sales in US Market Pose Challenge to Volkswagen - SPIEGEL ONLINE

Sales are probably also being hit by VW's poor reputation for quality in the US. According to statistics gathered by market researchers for J.D. Power, the company ranges between 28th and 32nd place. The research was gathered by asking customers who had owned an automobile for three years whether they had experienced problems with it in the past 12 months.
