Pakistan’s Hand in the Rise of International Jihad-New York Times

NYT ain't a saint paper. The author is indeed well paid that his writing shows the happiness and determination towards his job by way of loyalty to his master. However, drawing a picture for the sake of own arguments isn't the proof but indeed a bluff to fool the people and grow hatred.

We have weaknesses inside but doesn't mean what the author tried to draw the picture being biased.

. .
I was obviously talking about modern nation states, not Roman empire, one needs common sense not history lessons to know it.
Then look no further than American sponsoring of genocidal regimes and 'terrorist groups' in Latin America.
It wasn't when Pakistan sent its militias in 1947. It was a princely state which hadn't decided its fate till then.
In contrast to the preceding Indian blockade and stoking of unrest via proxies in the Princely State of Junagadh, that had officially acceded to Pakistan? Or perhaps in contrast to the Indian stoking of communal unrest and terrorism in the Princely State of Hyderabad, prior to an Indian military invasion, occupation and annexation of the State?
You would have a hard time convincing anyone.
The West needs an excuse and scapegoat to explain the failure of their simplistic 'black and white' policy of 'change in Afghanistan' (or Iraq for that matter).

It's so much easier to concoct and malign a bogeyman that can be accused of so many of the worlds ills than to try and comprehend and convey the reality of extremely complex geo-political, tribal, cultural, religious, sectarian and ethnic dynamics, whose interplay makes the Western (especially American) 'Fast Food approach' to international problem solving the equivalent of trying to control a swarm of ants with a small hammer.

Twisted headline. Although the ISIS line is indeed present in the article as a speculation and perhaps even as an exaggeration, it is not the main focus of the article. The original headline is quite appropriate. Pakistan has always been a proponent of global jihad. It started when "terrorism" was not even a term. Pakistan used non-state actors as proxies as early as 1947, soon after its independence when it sent tribal militias to Kashmir and it has continued since then, non stop, in one form or another. As the article mentions, Afghan Taliban still receives support from Pakistan.
The 'exaggeration' is more along the lines of outright nonsense and propaganda with absolutely no credible supporting facts and evidence. That particular 'exaggeration' casts the rests of the claims (which themselves have very little credible evidence supporting them) in extremely poor light.

Carlotta Gall's claims about the ISI and OBL have been countered by other Western writers, including yet another habitual Pakistan basher called Christine Fair.

I feel for you bro, there is no jihadi movement in land of pure & pious .....every thing is a Amriki ,Hindu ,Zionist propaganda :(
Yes we had Jehadi elements for Kashmir cause, and plus Amriki Hindu Yahood propaganda working against Pakistan no doubt on it.

And in the same vein one must feel for the West (per Carlotta Gall) - there are no detrimental effects from Western, Arab and Israeli policies of supporting dictators, running/supporting sectarian regimes, territorial occupation and launching wars in the Middle East - it's all because of the ISI and PA.

As we know what is happening in Afghanistan from the breakdown of the security situation to desertions within their army is all because of Pakistan

Now we have a new gem from the Times......Apart from the usual Pakistan=terror yadda yadda yadda we are also responsible for the rise of ISIS !!!

Interesting past couple of days first with that Guardian article and now this

What is there to be surprised? Pakistan arms good rebel groups in Syria and Iraq. Pakistan trains good rebel groups in Syria and Iraq. Pakistan supports child molesting and women hating Northern Alliance in Afghanistan. Pakistan is responsible for creating blatant lies regarding the WMDs in Iraq and invading this country on false pretences. Pakistan is plotting to remove Assad. The latest gem now, Pakistan is responsible for ISIS...

The Americans have truly gone nutters. Very bad at losing. Very good at blaming at others. Trump is going to make them win again. They are going to get tired of winning.
