'actual worth' of tech companies is grossly over blown and frequently glorified to give an aura of supremacy ,while in reality , tech companies are just selling a service.

facebook stock , for instance, was massively over valued at 200 USD with a mkt cap of 700bn, it has now fallen to 120 usd and expected to fall much more. same goes for amazon etc

uber was massively over valued at 80billion

i nothing against these new business models , however, not all that meets the eye is true

The revenue source of social media and tech companies is data of their users which help in receiving huge amounts from big companies for marketing and advertising their contents google earned 120 billion usd in first quarter of 2018 and 2nd number is of facebook as facebook has 4 billion active users and 1 billion searches are made on google each day 60 percent of world population is using u.s based technology and social media companies and softwere like microsoft windows we cannot compare with them as we are very backward in this field

Circumstances of our population are different than that of, say, China, US, EU etc. Comparing the two is like comparing apples and oranges. Our "Basic Billionaires" may seem 20th century but they are creating massive employments and that is important.

If individuals in other countries created ventures that are now global brands, it was because of the environment they were established in. An enabling environment, infrastructure that supports transparency, up-to-date taxation and IP laws etc are some factors that are different between us and them.

Who will bell the cat? I don't know. What I know is that it is easy to critique and become an armchair analyst but very very difficult to actually implement the policies.

I, for one, is grateful that these basic billionaires exist and the upcoming environment of startup and VCs will be a grate boon for our economy.
