Pakistani scientist discovers disease caused by interfamily marriage.

[

The article is politically charged bullshit.

What has been discovered is a genetic disease. When a human is created thier genes are produced by pairing the DNA of both parents. This process is completely random.

Gene pairs are made of dominant (R) and recessive genes (r). When they pair you can get RR or rr or Rr. Some traits are only available if the pairing is rr. These traits are called resessive traits and could be positive or negative.

If you mate with someone you are related to the difference in your genes is reduced and increases the likeliness of recessive traits being paired, which I assume cause this condition.

Unfortunately because the article is written by a Pakistani its missing all scientific facts and instead pushing its agenda.

Reducing your gene pool is not a good idea generally because many of the known disorders come from resessive gene pairings which are more likely to occur if you have similar genes, but it's only a small statistical probability, not a certainy as presented in the OP.

"Its missing all scientific facts".
OK so this ladies years worth of international research vs your oversimplified explanation.

You said it yourself. Relatives have a similar genotype. They both could be silent carriers of a genetic disease. When you're indulging in cousin marriage youre increasing the chances of your offspring having a a recessive genotype exponentially (be reminded that there's not one but hundreds of genetic diseases that occur due to recessive alleles). Why would you be part of something that's known to give off retarded children ?
A very interesting point you mentioned because if one studies the history of existing Royal families, and powerful families such as Rothschild, then it is very clear that they have INTERBRED to keep their genes pure. Even today, these people try marrying to their own kind to keep the "bloodline pure".

The Rothschild and British royal family being inbred holds as much weight as the earth being flat. We're seeing it ourselves nowadays that both british princes have married pretty far away from their families. I'm not 100% sure about other royal families but it'd make no sense to keep inbreeding now that most of the world is run by democracies and not monarchies.

yes bro, my reply means that there is no way inter family marriage can bring diseases. I have 17 doctors in my family all married in family, their kids are brilliant, we are 4th generation marriage in family, no major disease occurred in our family.

Many genetic disease are recessive and hidden but will appear in future generation
those 17 doctors in your family are probably women who got MBBS for rich rishta!!

The reporter and editor of this report are illiterate idiots who lack the basic understanding of the English language. It is not the Inter-Family rather Intra-Family marriage which causes problem. Inter-family marriage means marriage between two different families while Intra-Family marriage means marriage within the family. I wish the OP had attended a decent school to know the difference. Pathetic illiterate lot....

You spotted a grammatical mistake. WOW DONT YOU DESERVE A GOLD STAR. Argue with the science if you can. I can make a pretty accurate guess as to why you're triggered by this article here but its okay I don't judge :)

Every time when this debate rages.. some cousin fucker here comes and tells how 999999 members of his family are inbred and still okay!!

this is not empirical behaviour but just defending bullshit for the sake of it

Dr. Saima Siddiqi of IBGE researched for eight years on a family in Pakistan

Wow, One Scientist found one family in Pakistan that suffers from Rare disease, so obviously cousin marriages in Pakistan is the problem,

RIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lets see if this is true ?

A rare disease is defined by the European Union as one that affects less than 5 in 10,000 of the general population. There are between 6,000 and 8,000 known rare diseases and around five new rare diseases are described in medical literature each week.

1 in 17 people, or 7% of the population, will be affected by a rare disease at some point in their lives. This equates to approximately 3.5 million people in the UK and 30 million people across Europe.

75% of rare diseases affect children. Rare diseases include rare cancers such as childhood cancers and some other well known conditions, such as cystic fibrosis and Huntington’s disease.

Question to the scientist or (Unknown unnamed) researchers of Europe and Singapore, how people are suffering from rare diseases all over the world? are you saying all these cases involve cousin marriages?

Uhh you made a fool out of yourself in the very first line lad. If you had bothered reading the doctor is researching 200 other families. The specific disease that was discovered in this case is due to cousin marriage because the protein synthesized in these people is due to a recessive genotype. Now you'd be right to say that ofcourse genetic diseases aren't only due to cousin marriage as there's could be lots of other factors which lead to recessive genotypes but inbreeding is one of the main reasons because it decreases the size of your offsprings gene pool significantly.

This is basically inbreeding. I believe intra-family marriage has it’s roots in materialism than ideology. People wants to protect their properties from ‘outsiders’. It is also prevalent in many tribal cultures all over the world.
In a nutshell, this very practice had it’s fatal consequences like the one below :
Inbred Neanderthals left humans a genetic burden
Non-African human populations today have marginally lower fitness thanks to Neanderthal inheritance

According to his family with 17 Doctors..inbreeding makes brilliant genetics..

Some people in Pakistan are living proof that cousin marriages sometimes produce deranged individuals.
For example OP ....

Attend some school and learn basic English. The word science from your mouth does not make even a tiny bit of sense and who will be the idiot to Argue with science, we argue with people and not knowledge. If you had attended the school, you would know that it is not a grammatical mistake. Inter-family is exact opposite of the Intra-family and thus it changes meanings by 180 degrees. I know you won't be able to comprehend my answer but it is for the rest of the readers.

People should visit Northwich in UK. There's no cousin marriages there but the town is full of wired mentally unstable looking and acting population.

Genes carry disorders with them and who gets screwed in the process is anyone's guess - cousin marriage or not!

In my extended family there are plenty of first and second and third etc cousin marriages and those didn't produce downs syndrome kids but outside family marriages produced two. Even doctors misdiagnosed those (that being UK).

Elders used to inquire about the disorders and diseases in families before the Rishta was agreed and there's wisdom in that! But even then anything can happen, one can get all tests done and end result is out of their hands.
