I'm not always good at detecting sarcasm across cultures, but the article points out the assassination plot was brought to light by Snowden. If you believe it's fake then you have to believe Snowden is both a traitor to the U.S. and a CIA plant at the same time.

It was a high time news in Pak media at that time. Asma Jahangir appeared herself in many programs. She was informed by Pak IB, operating under Rehman at that time. Almost same time, a bomb was detected under Hamid Mir's car. She is a human right activist and exposed ISI for their extra judicial killings in Baluchistan. She is also a bitter critic of over judicial activism of Pak CJI or 'Kana'. She was targeted by extremist media, when she met with Bal Thakray.

Why you want to kill her?? Because she raised her voice against tortures?? Its really disgusting to see comments of senior pdf members like Imran.

Washington: US intelligence agencies had uncovered evidence of a plot hatched by Pakistani security officials to use militants to kill rights activist Asma Jahangir in India, according to a media report.

Citing classified documents provided by former National Security Agency contractor Edward Snowden , The Washington Post reported that US intelligence agencies had discovered evidence of the plot against Jahangir, one of Pakistan's leading critics of the security establishment.

In May 2012, the US agencies found out that Pakistani security officers were plotting to "eliminate" Jahangir, according to the summary of a top-secret Defence Intelligence Agency (DIA) report.

The DIA did not identify which officers were plotting to kill Jahangir, but it said the plan "included either tasking militants to kill her in India or tasking militants or criminals to kill her in Pakistan".

The US agency said it did not know whether Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) had given approval for the plot to proceed.

Though the DIA report speculated that the ISI was motivated to kill Jahangir "to quiet public criticism of the military", the agency noted that such a plot "would result in international and domestic backlash as ISI is already under significant criticism for intimidation and extra-judicial killings".

News of the alleged plot became public a few weeks later when Jahangir gave several interviews to journalists, revealing that she had learned that Pakistani intelligence officials had marked her for death.

Has anyone actually seen her talking, she is quite sane and critical of something due to certain fundamental principle she has.. for example she is anti nuke hence she criticized India for brining nuke to south asia.

A human right activist is 'kuti', '*****', 'better dead' in your eyes, such a country deserves to be in much worst place.:pissed:

you have to listen to her ffrom our point of view

Yeah, as though our security agencies don't find any opportunities here to cleanse this country from that bitchy menace. 90% of Pakistanis would be happy to personally shoot that loud-mouthed dirt bag, without a moments hesitation.

Gents, this is Indian soft **** journalism at its very best of 'made up news'. Take it with a 'palm full of salt and pepper.'

human rights people are always critical of their own country first, because that is where they operate... its same for Indian or british or american human rights activist.

ok thats fine but there is a difference between treason and human rights. meeting bal thackery is hypocrisy on her behalf, or did she go there ot inform him that he is a crazy lunatic? where was the human rights activist then? she went to meet a guy who wanted to kill muslims, she even wore his favorite colors, but back home she is talking **** about our army who is trying to fight extremists?
