Style lessons for 2017 brought to you by Miss Veet's red carpet
Red carpet style spotting this year kicked off with the Miss Veet finale, which is Pakistan's very own Next Top Model.
The evening crowned Zainab Raja from Islamabad as the winner of the reality show but what we were really anxious to see was what and who the celebrity attendees were wearing.
Unfortunately, there wasn't much to write home about. Since this was the first star-studded event of the year, we really hope this isn't going to be setting the tone for the rest of the year.
That being said, let's be a little glass half full, shall we? Here are some thoughts we had while scrolling through our Instagram feed last night:
DO: Experiment with layering

To tone down a wild print, pair it with a solid-coloured trench coat. We like how Sadaf's Zaheer Abbas coat was long, playing on the trend for ankle-length toppers.
DON'T: Wear a body chain with a sari

DON'T: Wear feathers

Is that a crow? Is that Black Swan? No wait, that's just a dress Hareem Farooq wore on the red carpet.
DON'T: Think you can pull off bows

Rule of thumb: If it's bigger than your head, you shouldn't try it.
DO: Accessorize with a contrasting bag

Blue and white stripes coupled with a red bag is a winning combo in our books.
DON'T: Go overboard with embroidery.
