A Pakistani family cut short its Mumbai trip after being refused accommodation by several hotels in the city following which they spent the night on a pavement.

The Pakistani family of around five members arrived in Mumbai to visit the Haji Ali shrine.

“After being with our relatives in Jodhpur for over a week, we decided to visit the Haji Ali Dargah in Mumbai for ziyarat (prayers). We arrived in Mumbai on the morning of 14 October, went to the shrine and returned from there after prayers,” said Noor Banu, who had come to India with her brother Inayat Ali (55), nephew Shakeel Ahmed, two other women and a seven-year-old boy.

Their ordeal began soon as they were refused accommodation by several lodges and hotels which they approached in South Mumbai.

“The only reason for refusal by lodges and hotels was that they (hotels) didn’t t want to complete the formality of filling Form-C, which is to be submitted to a government department if people from outside the country come to the city on visa and stay in their lodges and hotels,” said RPF sub-inspector Mahesh Chauhan, who helped the family in their time of distress.

“They also said that the owners of the lodges and hotels told them that they were very small establishments and have no manpower to do the extra work of filling and submitting the Form-C,” he said.

After checking and verifying the family’s documents, Chauhan took them to a cabin at Mumbai Central Police Station, located just outside the railway station, and told them to rest for some time, besides offering them tea and snacks.

The family stayed near the police cabin till 1-1.30 AM yesterday, Chauhan said.

Before heading back to Jodhpur they waited for the train on the footpath outside the station.

Well whole Pakistan was a part of British India

Then you are going against the teachings of islam..

The believing men and believing women are allies of one another. They enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong and establish prayer and give charity and obey Allah and His Messenger. Allah will have mercy upon them, for Allah is Almighty and Wise.

Surat al-Tawba 9:71

Do not hate each other, do not envy each other, do not turn away from each other, but rather be servants of Allah as brothers. It is not lawful for a Muslim to boycott his brother for more than three days.

And you are virtually saying you have no respect for waliullahs of India like hazrat nizamuddin or khwaja moinuddin chisthi just because they were Indians..Can you say the same by standing at any chowrasta in any pakistani city?Try that and come back
This is the problem because people do not have the proper knowledge of the religion and mix their different "isms" to distort the beautiful teachings of the religion. However, it is not necessary to follow or visit these waliulah and their shrines. In Islam, you to have follow Allah (Jalla shanahu) and His Prophet (Peace be upon him) and the two primary sources of teachings of Islam are Quran and sahih Hadeeth and in that order.

Nah. This is close to rock bottom.
I disagree here. I believe it will get worse

my cousins family lives in mumbai and i visited mumbai 1 time but if u want to stay in hotel u have to get permission from local police station . and it's true there are parts in mumbai where muslims cannot buy houses and there are colonies where u will see 1 street full of muslim houses and then 2 or 3 streets with hindu houses and 1 thing u will see everywhere are poor people

I was just replying to a person who was lying that all pakistanis hate indian muslims and the shrines and walis here..In this day and age of internet its not easy to lie and get away with it
I am not bothered whether it is allowed or not to visit shrines...the fact of the matter is majority of pakistanis have a huge respect for walis and islamic scholars of india..the recent example is zakir naik.

The fact that most of the Muslims lives in Ghettos/slums/low tier housing/slums in Mumbai and other cosmo cities in India seems to be true. And day in and out Indians here keep on bragging that Muslims are well-off, are happier and lives a respectable life in India...

They live as marginalized and oppressed lot, more often than not.

There is no comparison of living standards of people living in Pakistan with that of Muslims living in India, the combined wealth of Muslims in Pakistan can easily be 10 times that of the cumulative wealth of Muslims in India, with population almost comparable in both countries...

Not exactly ghettos but muslims like to live separately from hindus..they want to live in separate streets..some of them are poor and some of them are rich.
I cant talk about other muslims but south indian muslims are middle classed people..majority of them go to school..do jobs..but what I found is many muslims spend a lot...they dont save or plan their finances like hindus..they spend a lot on dresses and food..
This is also one of the reasons why they dont become rich

. .
How was it possible for them to get a visa to India in the first place. I have a relative who is British and went to India, they deported him straight away because his parents were born in Pakistan.

Thats because all rich muslims of india migrated to pakistan..it is an undeniable fact that muhajirs contributed a lot to the pakistani economy

.
Thank you Indians,,,, i hope this family was fed urine mixed food.
I also hope, they are not admitted back to Pakistan as well.
Hope those who like to charity abroad, shall be classified as non-Muslims.

Can't have the other way even if they want to live in upscale housing in Mumbai, muslims can't buy, rent condos and good apts. in Mumbai in better areas like Worli, Bandra, south of Mumbai, other upscale areas...they end up living in Bhendi and Chor bazaar, Dongri and poor areas, isn't it so.
