Pakistani family spend night on Mumbai footpath

A Pakistani family cut short its Mumbai trip after being refused accommodation by several hotels in the city following which they spent the night on a pavement.

The Pakistani family of around five members arrived in Mumbai to visit the Haji Ali shrine.

“After being with our relatives in Jodhpur for over a week, we decided to visit the Haji Ali Dargah in Mumbai for ziyarat (prayers). We arrived in Mumbai on the morning of 14 October, went to the shrine and returned from there after prayers,” said Noor Banu, who had come to India with her brother Inayat Ali (55), nephew Shakeel Ahmed, two other women and a seven-year-old boy.

Their ordeal began soon as they were refused accommodation by several lodges and hotels which they approached in South Mumbai.

“The only reason for refusal by lodges and hotels was that they (hotels) didn’t t want to complete the formality of filling Form-C, which is to be submitted to a government department if people from outside the country come to the city on visa and stay in their lodges and hotels,” said RPF sub-inspector Mahesh Chauhan, who helped the family in their time of distress.

“They also said that the owners of the lodges and hotels told them that they were very small establishments and have no manpower to do the extra work of filling and submitting the Form-C,” he said.

After checking and verifying the family’s documents, Chauhan took them to a cabin at Mumbai Central Police Station, located just outside the railway station, and told them to rest for some time, besides offering them tea and snacks.

The family stayed near the police cabin till 1-1.30 AM yesterday, Chauhan said.

Before heading back to Jodhpur they waited for the train on the footpath outside the station.

double the hatred! once being muslims and then being pakistani... indian government should change their attitude ...

.
This is a price they have to pay for their belief that they have to go to a shrine in the neighbouring country to pray to that dead soul for forgiveness or whatever those passed souls have to offer.

. .
Why not...?? The world should see your double standard...
Ban all trade with India ==> but will keep importing medicine.
Close airspace for Indian flights==> but will keep sending illness through sick people in India...
Why not go to Turkey or Malaysia
Who's stopping the superpawa Indian govt banning all visas for Pakistanis and stop selling the medicines... why do you sell your principles for money... Oh my bad I forget that I'm talking to the people who sell their mother (gao mata) for money i.e. the largest beef exporter. How is that? :enjoy: Kesa diya .. ni diya acha

I would advise against non essential tourism to India. The hoteliers will almost always have a problem unless the relations between the two countries are normalised. Young guys will face the worst scrutiny.

That's a statement of fact. Though I don't see the relations normalising any times soon... in fact, it will get worse...much worse

Should have selected a decent 3 or 5 star. Even most indians avoid these small lodges.

i think u should not use bad remarks for Shrines n Wali's . if u believe it or not .

The sons of the soil of Pakistan don't like anything about India including their gangu muslims, deal with it, we just don't make any distinction between gangus, gangus are all same for us irrespective of their religions or languages, they behave in the exact same manner because all of them have same gangu blood in their veins.

NICVD is a very good hospital for heart related diseases and its free. Why people go to GD for medical treatment.
Have you ever read the article?
I think there are similar hospitals in Pakistan as well and people need to make more. If we have SKMCH for cancer, we can also have one for heart and in fact it is much cheaper to operate.
But read the article, they did not go there for a medical treatment. Just read the article

I don't know for sure but number of people going to India for medical purposes has decreased in the recent years. This particular family was there to meet with their relatives and not for medical.

Then you are going against the teachings of islam..

The believing men and believing women are allies of one another. They enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong and establish prayer and give charity and obey Allah and His Messenger. Allah will have mercy upon them, for Allah is Almighty and Wise.

Surat al-Tawba 9:71

Do not hate each other, do not envy each other, do not turn away from each other, but rather be servants of Allah as brothers. It is not lawful for a Muslim to boycott his brother for more than three days.

And you are virtually saying you have no respect for waliullahs of India like hazrat nizamuddin or khwaja moinuddin chisthi just because they were Indians..Can you say the same by standing at any chowrasta in any pakistani city?Try that and come back

Eye-opener for Ex-Indians living in Pakistan. Learn to respect your one and only home.

At least, RPF sub-inspector Mahesh Chauhan took mercy on them,

Question is why this family went India, When Pakistan has
"Lal Shahbaz Qalandar, Baba Faid of Pakpattan, Bibi Pak Daman and others)
sharines...
