Agreed, always stand up for your rights, but use right forum and channel, specially when abroad. Not the Ho Ha on social media at the cost of community reputation.
In this particular case, I think I will go with you. The guy says he is an Australian citizen so he does have recourse to Australian law. It's not that he is in his "wild-wild-east" native land where people often feel powerless and are forced to resort to seeking public reddressal.
