Pakistan will never again fight 'imposed wars' on its territory: PM Khan

Trust me, you will only find one party which the characterises I mentioned in Afghan mess we find today. Unless you have other ideas/opinions, please do share.

Trust me, that your advice applies equally to all parties. Now let us move on to the topic of this thread.

Pakistan needs to secure not only its border, but also the interior of the country. Such insecurity, regardless of how or who started it, must be defeated if the country is to achieve its great potential.

Pakistan needs to take head on to those who are sitting pretty in Afghanistan and sponsoring terrorism on its soil. Unless and until this is not done, peace will not return to Pakistan. Let me remind you, there was no terrorism in Pakistan during 5 years of Taliban rule in pre 9/11. At the same time, make a horrible example out of those pseudo intellectuals within, who have been projecting and pushing Pakistan on this path of destruction in this foreign and alien war.

Well other parties in the region could read your first two statements the same way, and apply it to Pakistan too. Then what happens?

We did not create Afghan mess. We are not the ones who are occupying it.

That may be true, but as I said before, it does not matter who sets fire to one's house, or even the house next door. One still has to protect one's own house instead of blaming others.

If Pakistan chooses to be selective here, as you advocate, then it will only harm itself needlessly

Pakistan will and should do what's best for itself... Ever heard of the CIA and it's covert ops?

Its so tough to understand the "imposed war" whining by Imran Khan. Pakistan has very much a larger fodder population ready to explode themselves in a brink for their religion. If they had actively co-operated in 2001 by not letting in the Taliban and other fleeing fighters they wouldnt be in the situation they are in now. Its true while they was arm twisted by the US, but if one had followed some advice to a T, it wouldnt be in this situation before.

Second, organisations like the Pakistani Taliban, LeT were allowed to foster by Pakistan until they came like near to Islamabad in 2009-13 arena. And add to that free selling of weapons in Pakistani bazaar in their NW.

Now blaming others wouldnt cut it. Even without the Afghan Taliban, terror attacks take place at a regular frequency in Pakistan. Deradicalization is their solution.

Of course, it is Pakistan's choice whether it wishes to continue to retain some extra-State actors for use elsewhere, but the time for that strategy has come and gone
Somebody is still using that strategy in Afghanistan because of the rise of (mostly) foreign ISIS... Mysteriously Syrian ISIS veterans ending up in Afghanistan..

Let's not be so naive.

Isn't that what Pakistan has been doing all along? After all, those who determine what its national interests are benefited greatly from their decisions.

Besides, the last time I checked, CIA was not a Pakistani agency. Or are you saying that Pakistan should do what CIA does? If so, of course Pakistan can, and should, do whatever it is capable of, in serving its national interest. I have no problems with, or with any other country doing the same.

Please do keep in mind that all other players in Afghanistan do not have the same internal issues as Pakistan, so they can afford this strategy for a longer period of time. Pakistan clearly cannot, any longer than it already has.

Correct... Yes, we agree Pakistan should and would do what's in its own interests. Just as others do CIA, Mossad, RAW, MI5, KGB, etc.

Pakistan, so they can afford this strategy for a longer period of time. Pakistan clearly cannot, any longer than it already has.

Pakistan can afford what it knows it can afford. Nobody has the right to state what Pakistan can or cannot afford.

See, we can agree on some things.

Pakistan can afford what it knows it can afford. Nobody has the right to state what Pakistan can or cannot afford.

But everybody has the right to evaluate evidence and form an opinion about the matter.

True. However, there can only be a singular truth. Opinions are are always biased. However, those closest to a reality have opinions that are closer to the truth. As a Pakistani who has been to pakistan, lived in Pakistan, and knows mostly Pakistanis is closer to that reality.

In the topic at hand, the singular truth remains international geopolitics. For all parties, equally.
