1) India is turning to USA - pakistan can use that as leverage to get to Russia
2) some advanced equipment from China has parts from Russia (Engines) and hence the need to have Russia in the loop to replace high end US equipment.

If we haven't indeed received any spare parts for our F-16's for last "several years" then its not the politicians but the generals and air marshals who need to answer some difficult questions. If this was the case then why did PA ordered 15 zulus and paid $1 Billion for that in 2016. If we are not going to receive the spare parts for those choppers as well then this was nothing short of treason as in a few years it will become "very difficult" to fly them as well.

BTW we were supposed to receive the first three helis by 2017, can anyone confirm if they have arrived in Pakistan or it has been blocked by US.

Indian friendship with USA doesn't qualify Pakistan to have automatic access to Modern Russian hardware. we have been enemies for decades & our strategic importance is pretty much exhausted with china and we cant match Indian buying power to make ourselves viable enough for Russian top line weaponry
