Pakistan Strategic Bombers planes

No country apart from America, Russia and China operate the Strategic Bombers, mainly because of size and depth of these countries apart from the fact they are the true super powers. Albeit, at one time, it was rumoured that PAF has acquired some TU-16s from China but never materialised since such large aircraft doesn't fit into PAF's combat doctrine. Because of it's small size, it always tends to go for multi-role platforms.

india operating 4 of these since 2001..

May be due to the following reasons.

The Tupolev Tu-22 had not proved particularly successful, in some respects being inferior to the earlier Tu-16. Its range and take-off performance, in particular, were definite weak points. Even as the Tu-22 was entering service, OKB Tupolev began work on an improved successor.[

Rather than a strategic bomber, it's a Maritime Patrol aircraft, just like the P-3 Orions in the Pakistan Navy. Boeing P-8 is said to replace the Bear in IN.

see..trolling is in your blood..you didn't even read the article..just saw few lines and pasted here..

it said as Tu-22 wasn't successful,Russia built an upgraded version India operates advanced version Tu-22M.

"The first prototype, Tu-22M0, first flew on 30 August 1969. The resultant aircraft was first seen by NATO observers shortly thereafter. For several years it was believed in the West that its service designation was Tu-26. During the SALT negotiations of the 1980s the Soviets insisted it was the Tu-22M. At the time, Western authorities suspected that the misleading designation was intended to suggest that it was simply a derivative of the Tu-22 rather than the more advanced and capable weapon it actually was"

and i never said Tu-142 is a strategic bomber.i said it was develope from a strategic bomber and after integration of brahmos,it'll act like them..

Two Tu-142 aircraft are being fitted with the air launched version of the Brahmos. The aircraft will be the test platform for the Brahmos cruise missiles. The integration and tests of the missile is expected to be completed by 2010.[38] The eight aircraft will be fitted with the Brahmos cruise missiles.

and we'll not replace it soon..thats why we are upgrading..

.
Missiles are more effective than bombers. For insurgents jf-17 is more than enough.

LoL, that's a gross misconception. Cost of missiles are generally in millions while dumb gravity bombs are in thousands. Even costs of LGBs are hundred times lesser than cruise and ballistic missiles.

PAF has bombed indian targets in 1965 using a c-130 cargo plane.
If need arises Pakistan will come up with a boched plane that can carry heavy bombs over long distance.
Some say discarded passenger jets can be modified to carry heavy bombs.....

.
I think Pakistan need 3 to 4 strategic bombers.
We can't only depend on missile alone.
Our rival India have strong foot in Afghanistan.
One misadventure or one misunderstanding can lead into full scale war.
In this situation India will use Afghanistan to attack Pakistan.
Afghan Pak border is too long.
Yes we need bombers.

passenger jets can be modified to be a missile..forget 9/11???but thats not a missile..same C-130 is not a strategic bomber..

What is there to troll for, you yourself have posted this.

So, you are not even sure if it's operated by the IAF or not, but none the less a shot in the dark from you. !!

And until and unless then, it will remain a Maritime Patrol aircraft, by that virtue, i wonder if the PAF Mirages can categorise as strategic bombers, since they are already capable to launch Ra'ad ALCM. :)

Passenger jets can be modified to carry bombs over long distances, there wont be much variety, probably just a load of dumb bombs, but the two basic qualities for being a steategic bomber, heavy lift and long range can be fulfiled by modefied cargo, passenger jets.

Pakistan has a timid foreign policy , we can't be expected to dream big we should stick to importing Honda engines from Japan
Bombers are for nations who normally have "self dependence in their politics"

Our politicians have duel nationalities

Dual nationality is not the problem.........dual agendas or parallel agendas are the real issues. Besides, even when our traitors do not have dual nationalities they simply seek asylum and are most graciously granted because of the services rendered to our foreign master!

Back then there wasn't any advanced SAM systems, just anti-aircraft guns, which can be avoided by flying at a higher altitude. Scenario has changed, even shoulder fired SAMs can wreck havoc to those makeshift bombers. ;)

P8I will not replace the bears, it will take over maritime recon and anti sub roles, bears will be in IN till 2025, the MLU will be coming up in next 2 years.

4 TU 22m were leased (3 more on order) to India for maritime recon and STRIKE purposes,

Tu 142 carries currently the BAE sea Hawks and KH 55 and will carry 6 Brahmos each,

The era of carpet bombing is over.

Its precision guided weapons that are taking over the battlefield.
Why waste 5 tons of bombs when a 1 ton can get the job done faster?
Its all about up having the most up to date information to eliminate your enemy.

.
PAKISTAN has no need for strategic bombers ,
we need multi role combat aircraft like j-10b, jf-17 ...................... jh-7 as an option

.
Pakistan will need to Manufacture her own Strategic Bombers if she wants to have it, no one will sell such a Platform. Same stands for India, though India operates Tu-142 I doubt it is for Strategic Bombing purpose and serves as Maritime Recce patrol and ASW role.

we need multi role combat aircraft like j-10b, jf-17 ...................... jh-7 as an option

But a good Strategic Bomber can have a fire power of Squadrons worth of jet fighters.
