He is most likely sad that our military gave terrorism a blow that not even super powers could give and have reduced terrorism drastically to numbers that were not even dreamt of.

Have you considered the age of the helicopters. Replace them with new ones. Remember these were heavily subsidised due to American narcotics tracking. Pakistan Did the right thing

The ministry of Ch Nisar decided to return them however now Ashan Iqbal thinks we should have them. Nobody is going to replace them with new ones unless we intend to buy them and place an order for such.

I was there at AeroIndia, when they announced this jointly. Turbomeca may well have sold it to Russia and to China, as they had the right to do. Whether there was an older engine based on which this was developed, I don't know.

Yes, that's what I said, I think. That the JV partner sold with permission and knowledge. If I remember (it's years now), the arrangement was that each party should have the right to sell, subject to a small share of royalty to the other.

I don't know about the contribution being financial only. There were deputy managers and managers in the Engines Division, on the Old Madras Road, who mentioned that they were working on this JV.

Chill out guys, don't go in personal attack or any kind of attack.

Currently we don't have technical, industrial and scientific bases to build our own helicopters alone. That's unfortunately true. And if we choose to start alone, then be ready to fund billions dollars in the project...

But we can, and must start to explore any possible cooperation with Turkey, China and others friendly countries. It will be less expensive and we could get some TOT.

why not if free ? as those huye served the purpose well. all maintenance carried out on the expense of americans plus training and employment of Pakistani pilots , i guess it was a good deal .
the variety of machines with aviation from americans , french and now russians are some how better if sanctions like situation comes but at the same time expensive as well in terms of maintaining the different machines without transfer of technology.

The returned once were used heavily, new deal would be for newer frames with newer tech and equipment.

I dont understand why would you return them only to ask for them latter? I think US did offer to keep the helis however the interior ministry at the time chose not too.
