Pakistan replaces English with Urdu as official language

Pakistan has abolished English as an official language after almost seven decades of independence from Britain. Over 150 years ago, Britain officially replaced English with Persian and Urdu in the Indian sub continent which was divided into two separate states. it only mean from now on Urdu will be the language use in Govt Offices hence official

It will draw unnecessary attention, in my opinion. The timing is not probably right. First, ban on English words, then ban on English language. Can you tell me, what exactly is going on ?

Ban on English language? Where did you read that? Comprehension issues much?

Pakistan is coming full circle as per its 1973 Constitution. Urdu becoming the official language of the state, essentially means that inter-ministerial communique and court proceedings will gradually shift from English to Urdu. State speeches and a majority of the sessions of the Majlis-e-Shoora (Parliament) are already conducted in Urdu.

It does not mean the English language is being shunned and schools teaching any language other than Urdu will be burned to the ground. Why then the paranoia?

Oh and the timing is right alright. What better a time to act upon your laws than now?

Nothing more to it. The two issues are not connected at all.

Also, I'm just antagonized by the Indian flag on this forum. Def.pk reeks of immaturity and I can't bear Pakistani teenagers lest a juvenile pod of morons from across the border. I may get to know you in time and we may also enjoy less edgy conversations. But not today.

Edit: 'Replacement' not 'ban'. No official is going to hang for speaking in English. Urdu is now the state's official language. Promoting and projecting our culture and heritage is a prime part of being Pakistani.
