As to the French order it was a hold up but apparently technological advances have caught up with the deficit so good try but no gain.

Every Indian state is buying 1 JF-17. So approximately 27 Jets or 1.5 squadrons.

this was around the very expensive MICA missile acquisition for IAF mirage 2ks and Pak/China were looking at French avionics, ew etc for the thunder but which was later cancelled.

More recently there was some news that it's on the table again but India have since confirmed the Rafales so probably not.
