Time to wake up and get the head out of Sand, if Pakistan is spending money they should get the best value out of it. F16s are sanction prone and also the string of not being used against India so?

Hi,

I cannot imagine the STUPIDITY of these kids----. I read their comments and scream in pain---WTF are they thinking----.

How could they be so dumb---. I guarantee their parents did not bourne them dumb---. I am beyond myself in disbelief..

Why pay for something that you can get almost for free? 430 mils is really chump change that PAF can cough up any time but thats not the point. Pakistan is eligible for the grants through the Coalition fund.

Its the indian lobby that wants the PAF to pay to pay for the merchandise wholly. Let them spend millions of dollar lining the pockets of the lawmakers on capitol hill. The more they stall the deal the more the leeches in washington suck off from them.

But we should stick to our guns. Pakistan shouldn't pay a nickel more than she has to for these jets. Have our cake and eat it too.

Pakistan loving kissing the U.S.' behind so that they could continue to be treated like a kid.

Not sure when Pakistan will decide to grow up as a nation and stop sitting in the Americans lap.

. .
Yes well the Coalition funds , it does makes sense logically but what can you say
We have already ran operations against Terrorist and have incurred cost in the operations and mileage on the equipment.

However - we did had decisions go our way
  • Obama says yes
  • Military experts understand the issue
  • Congress said no problem you can have F16 C/D
  • 2-3 folks says you have to pay for planes in committee say (Which is OK , not a harsh ask)

FMS is not 100% guarantee sometimes you have to pay as per rule of the program

I think we benefited from support in past
  • 45 MLU
  • New F16 C/D Planes
  • Some Ammo / Missiles etc

  • We can still grow the fleet if needed just have to approach it as payment

May be if we are owed the grant ($430 Million) perhaps that money can be Transferred to civilian program, we could perhaps purchase items from USA and ship them over to Pakistan
Pretty certain our Military ops were 3-5 Billion range
  • Ambulance purchase (10 Million)
  • Armour for police or Soldiers ($10 Million)
  • Ambulance Helicopters ($50 Million - 50 civilian copters)
  • Police Equipment / Counter Terrorism ($50 Million)
  • Education Scholarships Grants Program ($80 Million)
  • School & Hospital refurbishment ($200 Million)

The F16 C/D deal , we will pay cash

FMS rule paying cash should resolve all issues

  • 24 F-16 C/D should be a good purchase. (1.2 Billion ) or Loan (As per rules of FMS), pure military deal

There is a famous Hadees, "Momin ek sorakh say do martaba nahee dasa jata" and @MastanKhan had already expressed his fears about this same thing happening

I hope it actually happens and PAF learns its lesson or someone sue's the PAF leadership for their yet another blunder.....a snake can never be trusted

WASHINGTON (Dunya News) – United States (US) Congress Committee has interrupted financial aid worth USD 430 million to Pakistan putting sale of eight F-16 fighter jets on the line once again, Dunya News reported Friday.

Department of State stated to a British journal that Obama government is in favour of supplying F-16s to Pakistan but US aid would not be used for the purpose.

Pakistan cannot afford to pay around USD 700 million for eight fighter jets and necessary equipment. As per the previous understanding, United States was to grant USD 430 million while Pakistan was to pitch in USD 270 million for the sale.

On the other hand United States Congress has also halted provision of USD 74.2 million funds for Pakistan under military aid package.

Pakistani embassy’s spokesperson in the United States, Nadeem Hotiana said that the US administration has already supported F-16s sale to Pakistan however purchase of arms and ammunition is a lengthy and time-taking procedure.

He said that India had lobbied against Pakistan regarding the sale while some members of the Congress had also criticised the deal. They had said that F-16s could be used against India, he added.

Indian External Affairs Ministry had made it clear in February that it would not buy the argument that the deal would help Pakistan combat terrorism.

"We are disappointed at the decision of the Obama Administration to notify the sale of F-16 aircrafts to Pakistan. We disagree with their rationale that such arms transfers help to combat terrorism," Indian External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Vikas Swarup had tweeted.
Earlier in March, the motion to supply F-16s to Pakistan garnered success in the US Senate with an overwhelming 71 to 24 margin.

The deal between the two sides was kept alive for the past five years however, Obama government announced in February to go through with the sale formally.

In February, Secretary of State John Kerry, while testifying to the Senate’s Foreign Relations Committee defended the deal.

Kerry lauded Pakistan’s efforts in war on terror and said that the country is an ally in fight against extremism and has been deeply engaged.

Senators had 30 days to express reservations in the matter after formal announcement by the United States on February 12. Senator Bob Corker, the chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, sharply questioned the plans to sell F-16 fighter jets to Pakistan within the given time.

It should be noted here that the deal is in accordance with US foreign policy s objectives and national security goals of improved security of strategic partner in the South Asia.

The deal involves sale of eight nuclear-capable Lockheed Martin Corp F-16 fighter jets, radar and other equipment.

Hello Sir,
I am disappointed with the attitude of a lot of people in Pakistan. They will not admit the faults and without taking that step nothing can change.

Issue is not money this reserve is like u draw money from 28% credit card and put that money into ur current account .

Cheapest and viable alternate is FC 20 PAF should procure couple of Sqds for taliban strikes current F16 fleet s more than enough .

. .
"The original arrangement had been that Pakistan would pay close to $270m, with the US foreign military financing budget paying for the rest.

However, top US lawmakers have expressed concerns over the US government's decision to sell the jets to Pakistan, saying they could be used against India rather than for combating terrorism."

.
I dont know how many times they will be bitten from same hole....

And they still keep going for more.....

We dont need f 16s...
What we need is to fire some airforce generals....

Well they only stated , please use your own funding , do not use US funding for the purpose.
Now all Pakistan have to do is , finance the deal for 24 planes

USA does not object to a purchase , just can't use Grant on this case

Just close the deal for 24 units no objection to purchase of F16 C/D its a finance thing
FMS (Foreign Military Sale) is a grant / loan / financing program

We need 20-30 Planes just order it and get deal done pay cash get it over with
