Pakistan fence to seal off Afghan border - Al Jazeera English ( Video Report)

I am not asking Pakistan to provide Afghans with modern Education. You can wait another 15 years for that. But educating them about their problems and their reality is no doubt needed.
Pakistan has given education and scholarship (mostly free) to Afghans for decades now. I don't see it paying off.

.
I have made my point clear. There is a huge difference between Afghans and the Afghan government.
Secondly lasting peace is our goal and for that a landlocked country needs access to feel secure and flourish.
There is no single solution to this problem but a multi pronged effort is needed on every sector.

Pakistan cannot afford to isolate Afghans, it has to mainstream them.

Those who are sighting Indian involvement in Afghanistan, rest assure this is an ill advised endeavor from the Indians which will fade out. Pakistan has worked closely with the Iranians on this issue for the past 20 years and it will bear fruit.

Why hurry when we have time on our side if we can use it properly.

We took in 12 million afghan refugees during the soviet war what did we get in return for that.

other then empty promises by the muslim world that they would support us financially for taking so many afghans inn and sharing our home with them.

in return we got bomb blasts, friendships with india, terrorist shelters.

bro i hope that country gets bombed into the stone age because thats what namak haram afghanis deserve

Yes that is true but we messed up many things ourselves too. And let's not forget the proxy wars and the brainwashing that goes on.

BTW, how is starving an innocent child, woman or elderly a deserving treatment? We are muslims and this is not what we should do.

I agree bro, Afghans and Afghan government are two different things. I've seen many great Afghan immigrants in Pakistan, almost all of them considered themselves Pakistani and their children knew no other home or country than Pakistan. Some of them are local businessmen and contribute to the economy greatly. I think we should've 'filtered' them instead of expelling all of them.

Sometimes I worry that Pakistan is stumbling unto this 'Ultra Patriot' syndrome which will corrode the basic foundation of Pakistan. People need to understand that the building block of Pakistan lies in Unity, Faith and Discipline.

@Verve Finally figured out how/what of thumbs up

The above analysis is true for almost every non Pakistani that frequents Pakistan. This is our status given by the Almighty.

And what if that innocent child, woman or an elderly belongs to a nation that is willing and ready to back stab my nation?

What does Allah say? Even in state of war, we muslims should not harm the children, women and elderly of the enemy.

Nation = Current Afghan Government?

You know, Indians use the same argument when killing Pakistani civilians. Are we the same as the Fascist Hindu now?

We are not directly targeting children, women or elderly. We are just stopping our support and aid to them. I think that is allowed in Islam or any religion.

Pakistan has 2 options

1) Educate the Afghans and cultivate the historical relationship
2) Isolate the Afghans and suffer the consequences

And what should we educate Afghans about???

And what is your guarantee those educated afghans backstab Pakistan considering nature of Afghans.

We owe nothing to the Afghans. I am all for being humane, but every country has the right to defend and regulate its borders.

Afghanistan is not our mamay ka puttar that we have to keep looking after the spoilt brat so that one day, maybe sometime in a million years, it will become civilized.

Afghans have been busy fighting each other way before Pakistan even came along, now they just have a scapegoat to blame their problems on. Some of them still speak about Alexander the great for invading that area. That's the mentality of some of those people. Stuck in the past. Let them stay there, why should we continue to lose our children and women in attacks orchestrated by terrorists enjoying the hospitality of these people? Are they not mature enough to look to themselves instead of firing missiles in to their own cities over petty differences?

As for those people who hold Afghanistan as sacred because their tribe once migrated from there, maybe you should also hold Africa as sacred as well because all human ancestors came from there? Even Awans claim ancestry from South Eastern Afghanistan. Do you see me holding it in same regard as Pakistan?

Pakistani women children and unarmed civilians are usually prime targets for the deluded sub human scum hiding in afghanistan... in fact they hardly ever go toe to toe with police and military.... they usually would blow them selves up in crowded city bazaar or on door step of a mosque.... they have targeted hospitals and womens bazaars and childerns schools....

only reason they have not used chemical or nuclear weapons is caz they don't have them....

while I would strongly condemn similar approach being used by our side, and they have hardly ever been even accused of being doing so, which is entirely satisfactory...... as it is forbidden in islam... but looking after economic prosperity and population of Afghanistan is not our job....border should remain closed...

also under Islamic law...family member of known terrorists should be taken under custody and trialed for aiding and abetting and obstruction of justice for not telling authorities about their loved ones activities...(to be done by civil law enforcement not military)

ughh...... get real ! it's an international border what do you expect allow them violate pakistani sovereignty and come and go as they please when they don't even accept the durand line ? Pakistan has suffered the consequences precisely because it's been so brotherly and had open border for decades what did afghanistan contribute to pak during his relationship ? every other country with afghanistan has strict border control tell me what consequences they suffered from superpower afghanistan ? Iran despite being a shia nation and much more historic relationship than us and also huge border with afghans never suffers terror attacks from taliban it's because they're smart enough to keep strict border control with them

If indirect action results in starvation of innocent people, then who do you think Allah will hold accountable? Fencing the border is all well and good, late but it is being done. Cutting food supplies to the extent of turning a neutral Afghan to a starved anti-Pakistan Afghan will hurt us even more. A man with food on table for his family is far less likely to turn in to a suicide bomber than one who only sees death from starvation. A starving man will blame the one whose direct action resulted in it and becomes far easier to be exploited by proxies.

India cutting off our water will lead to what exactly (if Pakistan didn't have the power to stop her)? A: Starvation and subsequent death
Cutting food supplies permanently to Afghanistan will lead to what exactly? A: Starvation and subsequent death

@El Sidd is correct that we will suffer consequences for abusing our power.
