If indirect action results in starvation of innocent people, then who do you think Allah will hold accountable? Fencing the border is all well and good, late but it is being done. Cutting food supplies to the extent of turning a neutral Afghan to a starved anti-Pakistan Afghan will hurt us even more. A man with food on table for his family is far less likely to turn in to a suicide bomber than one who only sees death from starvation. A starving man will blame the one whose direct action resulted in it and becomes far easier to be exploited by proxies.

There government is responsible. Not Pakistan. There government has already said that they don't need Pakistani routes and have alternative routes for their nation.

I don't know what is the problem with you guys. If Afghans had any kind of prosperity and strength they would have been worst enemy than India. They are not good even today but in case of an Afghanistan that is more economical proper than Pakistan, it would have been the biggest enemy that Pakistanis would have imagined. Allah would surely ask Pakistani rulers what you were doing when terrorists were killing your innocent people. Afghans can get food from anywhere. But the precious souls that we keep on losing in each terror attack won't come back.

Bro I think a lot of the problem emanates from the fact that we have never intended or sought to understand the real and proper Afghan sentiment towards us. We are taught that Afghans are our brothers, they love us, respect us and were waiting from the start to be liberated from the Soviets. The problem is both our expectation of Afghanistan as a (potential) ally as well as the failure of us to gauge what Afghans think of us. I would blame the textbooks for this among other things like demonization of minorities (though this is a different topic)

Maybe I am a little biased but on Afghan forums they hate us more than the Indians. Liaqat Ali Khan was killed by an Afghan who wanted Pashtunistan. From the start Afghanistan, even with its limited capability and outdated army has been causing us as much damage as it can even in its weak state. I went to their forums with deep respect of pashtuns and afghan nationals as a result, because i was writing a book on them. I learned they want to break my country.

Afghanistan was always hostile to pakistan and their citizens hate us. They hate us very much. Now the tyrant of the world, USA and to an extent India has given the Afghans their backing. They are bound to be a problem. I agree with @Verve that we shouldn't purposely try to hurt their civilians but who will give account of Afghanistans invasion of Bajaur, inacceptance of the Durand line, support to Faqir of Ipi which have resulted in the death of innocent Pakistani civilians? The Afghan nationals are still living in ancient times.

It is imperative to understand the situation now. Brahamdagh Bugti, other than the west lived in 2 nations. One India and the other Afghanistan. Even ANP leadership has found refuge there in hard times. BLA is trained there. We never understood that by habit and nature Afghanistan was hostile to us. This failure to gauge their behavior is the reason we failed in the war on terror so badly in the earlier period. Right now intelligence foils around 30-40% of all attacks. Before it was worse and it was so because we failed to realize Afghanistan was training and supplying the TTP. I have contacts in intelligence. I know how Afghans are. They worked with the Indians and continue to do so. So I would advise everyone not to think of Afghans as friends. Join any Afghan forum and see how they insult Pakistan-it will be a wake up call. Nice try ! emotional blackmail and playing the religion card will no longer work- afghanistan has had more than enough chances and our sympathy has run out. Fencing the border is not abusing our power in fact according them Pak is hosting terrorists who launch cross border terror attacks so this would actually help them ! We are not blocking food and water and nor are we occupying and bombing them and they can still come as long as they have valid visa. They can also use Iran and chabahar that was the whole purpose of it to circumvent pakistan anyway even according to them they don't need us and they also have china and plenty of other neighbours we are but one border only.

You need to read my posts again! I'm in favour of strong border management. But not in favour of cutting food supplies that Afghans pay for.

Human movement across border should also be restricted to minimum, and reduction in visas.

Plus I am a strong believer that Afghan refugees should be sent back.

But saying that we need an effective immigration policy to not do injustice to those who love and consider Pakistan their true home and contribute.
