Pakistan expresses worry over planned Air Force base in Gujarat; complains about ‘Cold Start’ Published November 11, 2017 | By admin SOURCE: ZEE MEDIA

Pakistan has criticised India’s plans to build a new airbase near its border in Gujarat and said it is part of an offensive doctrine that seeks to create space for ‘war’. The plan is fraught with danger and exposes India’s ‘irresponsible behavior’, Pakistani Foreign Office spokesman Muhammad Faisal said on Thursday. “The report about Gujrat provides credibility to the fact that India is fast developing the infrastructure and force configurations to operationalize these military doctrines. Subscribing to such offensive doctrines in a nuclearised region exposes irresponsible behaviour,” The News International quoted him as saying. The new Indian Air Force base is set to be built in Deesa in Gujarat’s Banaskantha district. It is near the border and is aimed at improving air superiority capabilities in the sector. The new airbase was announced by Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman soon after she took charge of the ministry. The Pakistani reaction is only the latest round of paranoia and knee-jerk reactions over India’s alleged ‘Cold Start’ military doctrine, allegedly developed after the 2001 Parliament attack by Pakistan-based terrorists. This doctrine reportedly allows the security forces to conduct offensive ops at a short notice as part of a unified battle group. It also emphasizes on speed and overwhelming firepower. The aggressive and offensive nature of the alleged doctrine sparked panic in Pakistan. To make matters worse, Indian officials have given the full range of responses when asked about whether it exists. Some have confirmed its existence while others have expressed ignorance and yet others have denied its existence. The Pakistani authorities and the media continue to refer to this alleged doctrine whenever the Indian armed forces build a military infrastructure or launch coordinated operations against terrorists, particularly on the border. The subject also commonly discussed during television debates in Pakistani news channels.

If you can worry about our F-16 purchase why cant we worry about your bases, don't take it to heart, it was just for setting the record straight that we are not provoking. no one should blame us for wiping out 1.3 billion gangalanders with our strategic nukes.. world already is very well aware of your greed in Kashmir..

I don't know what purpose these statements serve.
It is simply a diplomatic norm to bring pressure on the other side. Anytime some step is being taken primarily geared towards Pakistan, it is the FO's job to release a statement to bring the attention of outsiders to it. It does not mean this is just noise. This is the SOP for the FO. From a military standpoint, all three services will take into consideration the potential of this base to alter any changes in their operational plans and then the Government and the defence ministry will contend with what responses need to be considered and quietly those measures would be put in place.

This is a pretty routine thing.

why worry,Pakistan has tactical nuclear weapons which can detroy India!
Tac nukes wont destroy India, for that we will have to use our strategic nukes. Tac nukes will only be used to vaporise your armoured battle groups

Even if they build 20 more such airports they will not dare to cross international border. LY80 is capable of shooting any indian aircraft irrespective of the airbase it takes off from

They can come across just as we can go over ourselves. One missile system and a certain number of batteries cannot provide coverage across the entire IB or LoC. Each side would know where the air defence coverage is lacking or thinned out and would try to exploit that space for ingress.

Military challenges aside, the bigger issue is the escalation and the geo-political implications of going across.

We don't need tactical nukes to destroy air base for that we have other THINGS, H2, H4, Ra'ad, Babur etc....

The difference between the two is that we made US to sell you F 16. You can simply cry and can't do anything about our air base.

Just for the sake of argument lets assume that you manage to nuke entire India.

Forget about nuclear radiation. How do you plan to stop the smog getting into your country?

The high IQ does not know about how the nuclear radiation in India will blow towards them, if there were any living creature left in your country. Don't get into the chinese mode of IQ comparison.

Indian army should just deploy overwhelming amount of bases all along Loc, so Pakistan could reciprocate and go bankrupt in the process. All it needs to do is to involve in minor provocations so Pakistan army could show our aggression, and use up substantial portion of their budget.

P.S, US did the same with Soviet union.
