What's new

Pakistan could get revenge for 1971 with a three front war to cut off northeast Indian states

At the time of Pandemic you are thinking about to take a revenge and proxy wars??

Read some books to calm your brain down or watch some movies and do exercise to keep yourself busy.

In 71 at time of cyclone hitting pakistan and a civil war but Indian didn't thought about that and launched terrorism in Pakistan.

what a loooong thread ! this is about the 1971 Bangla desh liberation ? It was quite simple and straight forward.

1) W.Pakistan disrespected E.Pakistan; Even though people from East won the election, they were robbed from ruling the country.
2) East Pakistan said they have had enough and wanted to secede
3) In the ensuing rift, the Pakistani military slaughtered and abused the East Pakistanis; huge numbers if refugees started flowing into India
4) The E.Pakistanis (Mukti Bahini) rose up and counter slaughtered the Pakistani militray
5) India could not tolerate the ruckus and the refugee flow and intervened
6) Tens of 1000's of Pakistani soldiers under attack by E.Pakistani, surrendered to Indian forces for protection
7) India then released the Pakistani military once thing cooled down

So it is completely wrong of anyone in Pakistan to blame India for their own mistake. They should question their own elders about why Bhutto & company refused to let Mujib Rehman's party that won the election was refused power

. . . . .
But Pakistanis are damaging pakistan to prove they are stupid doves.

Instead of talking less and doing more.

Pakistani's have habit of blaming others for their own mistakes.

We do not learn from our mistakes and blame others.

We blame India for 1971 but do not realize the mistakes we made.

We blame Bhutto for 1971 but do not understand that he was not in power. Someone else was in power and he should be held accountable.

Well, I don't want to go into the depth of the topic because of the subject itself very complex. But here would like to mention Shaikh Hassina during her linguistic day disclosed truth about her father's hypocrisy( the father of Betrayal nation Mir Jafar who put entire India slavery of 300 years under British rule ) with Quide E Azam already started in 1948 and India just use him(exactly like Britsher used Mir Jafar against india) and maintain the air inside of him against Pakistan until 1971. Bhutto was smart and intelligent and realized Mir Jafar like mindset Mujib's thinking about the Greater Bangla plan by joining East and West Pakistan and then later join to India as a satellite territory exactly like today Bangladesh Model in map but nature planning was different than Mujib planning.

all your Indians and Bengalis mindset built in the shoebox of sympathies firmly with the liberation struggle in Bangladesh in 1971. The dominant narrative of the 1971 war is the story as told by "India or Bengali side", as it repeating the partisan narrative or continuing the conspiracy of silence over uncomfortable truths. The real question for you who have profited for so long from mythologizing the history of 1971. India, right? Bangladeshi women and children never sold before the separation of 1971 were zero. After separation from Pakistan, Bangladeshi women and children's products available in the brothels of Kolkata and this punishment is given by nature to betrayal nations and now become the slave nation to India forever.
I understand your orthodoxy thinking the process of dismantling entrenched nationalist mythologies can be painful for those who have much vested in them.
Two eminent US historians, Richard Sisson and Leo Rose published the only research-based study of the war at the diplomatic and policy level twenty years ago. Their excellent book, War and Secession: Pakistan, India and the Creation of Bangladesh (University of California Press, 1990), challenged the dominant narrative, but their work does not seem to be known among the general public as much as within academia.

For your mindset read the book of Sarmila Bose "Dead Reckoning" has spoiled the day for those who had been peddling their respective nationalist mythologies undisturbed for so long. Careers have been built - in politics, media, academia, and development - on a particular telling of the 1971 war. All the warring parties of 1971 remain relentlessly partisan in recounting the conflict. As the dominant narrative, which has gained currency around the world, is that of the victorious Bangladeshi nationalists and their Indian allies, they stand to lose the most in any unbiased appraisal.

Read................ but one last thing brings into memories, the idea of Islam as the basis of nationhood came apart in South Asia along with the country of Pakistan, whoever involve in breaking of Pakistan. Allah makes our enemies into history, don't forget us how we responded to you on Siachin. where is your Indra Gandhi, Soviet Union, Mujib, beat the USA(we saw the face of US alliance in 1971) by his own aid in afghanistan....now India is next? 27 Feb was just trumpeting to relax our muscle for an already started long war. Let's see How much India is powerful than the Soviet Union and the USA.

This book turned out to be utter bullshit when US declassified the documents. I tried to interview these guys at cal berkeley, after the materials were declassified which pretty much destroyed their book. Their response was that they did the best they could with available information. I asked them who funded the book writing, that if they got any money from pak, they declined to answer. I asked them if that is no, they repeated that they decline to answer.

Sarmila work has been discredited so many times its not even a joke.

I can expect this type of answer from you when faced with unpleasant realities,Scholars and investigative journalists have an important role in "busting" politically partisan narratives. And yet, far too often we all fall for the seductive appeal of a simplistic "good versus evil" story or seems like you fail to challenge victors' histories.
But was it really as simple as that? Over time, the victorious Bangladeshi nationalist side's narrative of Pakistani villainy and Bengali victimhood became entrenched through unquestioned repetition.

for heaven's sake! yo Pakistanis, stop this bs. there is actually old film out there in youtube catching your troups lining up Bangladeshi (then East Pakistani) students and professors. If you had any sense you'd do following:
1. apologize to Pakistanis for the atrocities committed against them
2. thank the Indians for saving some 90k Pakistani troops' lives
3. Move on. Go build your country's economy and social circumstances

simple 1 2 3

No way you're going to hide the truth retroactively!
