Pakistan chief of spy agency visits Afghan official in Kabul
By Associated Press

KABUL, Afghanistan — An Afghan official says a Pakistani delegation is in Kabul to meet Afghan authorities amid increased tensions.

Monday’s meeting is the first since the Pakistani Embassy closed its consular section in Kabul earlier this month, citing unspecified security concerns.

Afghanistan and Pakistan have an uneasy relationship. Kabul blames Islamabad for supporting the Taliban in the country’s protracted war, a charge Pakistan denies.

The two countries also trade accusations that each side is firing across their shared border. Cross-border clashes killed three Afghan women last month.

Kaber Haqmal, spokesman for the Afghan national security adviser, said the two sides discussed efforts to normalize relations.

He says Afghan national security adviser Hamdullah Mohib has met with Gen. Faiz Hameed, the head of Pakistan’s intelligence agency, and Suhail Mahmood, Pakistan’s foreign secretary.

I guess there is some serious discussion on the table with Afghandus related to recent diplomatic tensions. Your thoughts

.
A reliable source within the Afghan government confirmed that a Pakistani delegation led by Gen. Faiz Hameed, head of the Inter-Services Intelligence, or ISI, is in Kabul to meet with Afghan officials.

Two deputies of Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry are also accompanying the Pakistani spy chief, the source said.

The source added that the Pakistani delegation will “apologize” to Afghan officials over the harassment of Afghanistan’s ambassador in Islamabad.

Yeah right. The govt is on far better terms with the Afghans than the ISI, and if they didnt say anything then why would ISI?

They are obviously discussing something more sensitive hence the need to go to Kabul, hopefully they demand that NDS stops backing ptm, ttp, bla, etc.

The delegation is led by our foreign secretary Sohail Mehmood while DG ISI is part of the delegation.

Pleasantly surprised, a full page that doesn't include the words Indian, Hindu or Biryani. However, propaganda still appears to be present, although originating from Kabul based sources. Anyway, best to put all this behind, and continue to mend fences for the sake of the Pakistani and Afghan people.

I'm sure there will be other ways to penalise those personally responsible for this current mess.

Helping the illegitimates with an exit strategy no doubt.
