This exercise might have been to check the capability of the missile, not to
practice hitting drones.
Drone provides a cheap moving target to check the missile specs.

BTW,
to get a drone down, one does not need ANZA MkII or a stinger; this is better and cheaper done with AA guns.

For years we have been using drones to perform such exercises as it shows the professionalism of the AD formations in their training and such exercises happen each year as part of yearly training routine.

And such drone shooting has been happening way back before even 9/11 happened.

Nothing especial in it.

There is nothing big about shooting or being able to shoot down these drones. Pakistan it self allows them to fly from its own airbases. If wanted to shoot them they would have done in the first place. It's not like they are bombing Lahore or Islamabad with it.

Only with MANPADS or AA Guns Pakistan is not capable shot down all Type of Drones, these Weapons are only usefull against tactical UAV. To destroy MALE Type UAV like Herons which are in Service by IAF Pakistan need medium Range SAM which can climb more than 30000 FT. For HALE Drones are Long Range SAMs like HQ-9 needet.

Hmm...US Predator drones's high altitude is between 10,000-25,000ft, is that possible?

from that altitude drones can't fire AGMs such as "maverick"

Here we are talking about paksitans capability to bring down low altitute medium velocity flying objects with their current millitary hardware. It sure can do so. Not particularly discussing the prospects of pakistan targeting US predator drones.

Lol are you sure they have to come down ? lol i dont think so. The issue here is not whether Pakistan can shoot the drones down or not, the issue here is that whether Pakistan can stop a foreign country from bombing their own land whenever they wish. Shooting the drones down would be a foolish act of emotions that will lead to fierce retaliation from the United States, which Pakistan cannot risk. Rather than using military strength ,the leaders of Pakistan must let go of their own personal gains and fight for their country diplomatically. Not to demean anybody in any way but I am sure every Pakistan is very hurt from the fact that USA can bomb their country whenever they want and still get away with it. Using military strength is nothing but a short term and disastrous tactic, rather than that the clever use diplomacy can be used to accomplish any goals. Anyone can fire a gun, but the really winners are the one that only have to use their heads to get things done

Attack Drones do not only use Hellfire or Maverick, they can carry LGB or JDAM which can dropped from high Altitutes. MALE Drones Recconnaisance Mission flying also in Hight Altitutes, in this Case MANPADS or AA Guns can not rech them. I think against MALE Drones on high Altitute SPADA-2000 would counter this Threat.
