Is she a dimwit, a traitor or both?
1.) We are not going to "win" Kashmir through dialogue either. What needs to be done is an international diplomatic offensive highlighting the UNSC resolution and pushing the need for a referendum. This will at least keep India a little nervous.
2.) The US is not "moving towards India" because of India's democratic tradition. The US has no problem dealing with dictators. The US is simply propping India up as a counter-weight to China's inevitably growing influence in the region.
3.) It's rather hypocritical to say that Zia did the wrong thing by helping the US post the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan; but Mush simply had "no choice." There is always a choice -- it just comes with consequences.
BTW, one of the real aims of supporting the insurgency in Occupied Kashmir was to keep a large portion of the Indian Army engaged/deployed there. In talks with numerous military/ISI officials, they always seem to suggest that this has been achieved.
