Pakistan CANNOT "conquer Kashmir through war" : Hina Rabbani Khar

This is what Pakistan has always believed -- that such a thing would happen

If it was EVER possible for Pakistan to take Kashmir it was in 1991
when our economy was bankrupt

Today our GDP is TEN Times that of 1991
And Forex reserves 300 Times that of 1991

That is why the bleeding the invaders to dry is the only option. It will be slowly and gradual, but at the end, it will be worth it. If Azad Kashmir is any indicator, Indian Occupied Kashmir with be united with Azad Kashmir soon. :D

Yeah...please stop touching me.

I can understand if English is not your first language. Gussa toh naahin ha raha hai? :D

What is it that Pakistan has NOT tried so far

You should see whose economy is bleeding before Indulging in such fantasies

Pakistan economy will bleed no more thank to CPEC, but Pakistan will continue to bleed Indian army even if takes 100 years. You cannot separate Indian Occupied Kashmir from Azad Kashmir. They belong with each other, and most importantly, they belong to Pakistan. So, the bleeding may not achieve its mission overnight, nonetheless it will still continue to bleed Indian army as long as it can. :D

Yes Not through war but through Jihaad

Conquer ??

Thats a strange word for an Ex FM to use .

Once again , this serves as an example of how people seem to get wise once they demit office. She / her Govt did not show such sagacity while in office.

India has the part of J&K it needs . Its Pakistan thats forever squabbling for more.
Well when you have a free wheeling talk truth gets exposed but while in diplomatic corps , a carefully worded statement is presented. But any for a country which openly accepts hosting taliban this is insignificant.

I m confused.....I
never mind it happens when all the strategies fail. But we like it:-).

Not millions.

It's not about 'numbers', it's about the military 'advantage' you posses in terms of difference in the military technology, training, soldiers, terrain, experience, and so on.

In simpler words, if Pakistan was U.S, and India was India of today---storming LoC and conquering Kashmir would've been a mildly challenging task at best.

India storming the LOC ,yes that can happen with a million soldiers and tonnes of ammo. End result will be more deaths and waste of money. Holding the ground will be more harder as pakistan will never fight a conventional war but use guerilla tactics.
Neither India is going to gain anything enormous that needs to be defended with so much bloodshed. I believe even pakistan can launch a blitzkreig and storm the LOC but holding the ground after that is simply not possible.

She is totally wrong. There are two ways to win over an area, 1) Total destruction 2) Win over indigenous population. Kashmir is already a win win for Pakistan, but Pakistan's dilemma is that Pakistan got loyal, straightforward Army generals, who wants to go one way and spineless corrupt politician like PPP and herself who wants appeasement route. World is confused about Pakistan foreign policy. I saw bit and pieces of her interview and her approach to every problem is that Pakistan should bend over to every international accusation to win respect. May be that how she got her FM post from Zardari but bending over doesn't solve problem neither bring respect.

'We cannot conquer Kashmir through war'

ISLAMABAD: Former foreign minister Hina Rabbani Khar on Sunday said Pakistan cannot "conquer Kashmir through war" and progress on the issue can only me made in an environment of mutual trust with India.

"I believe that Pakistan cannot conquer Kashmir through war and if we cannot do that, the option we are left with is dialogue, and dialogue can only proceed with a partner with which we have normal relations and a certain level of mutual trust," Khar said in an interview with Geo News.

She claimed that the PPP government, despite being a coalition government, had tried its best to normalise ties with India through relaxation of visa rules and by normalising trade ties.

"The issues between the two countries cannot be resolved in a hostile environment."

Khar, who remained Pakistan's foreign minister from 2011 to 2013, maintained that the Kashmir issue can be resolved "if we continue to talk on the issue, then we will reach somewhere".

Answering a question regarding the military's influence on Pakistan's foreign policy, she said that it is a diplomat's job to carry forward the military's perspective on issues where the military is a relevant stake holder.

Khar stated some people believe that the issue can only be resolved "if there is a BJP government in India and a military government in Pakistan".

Khar observed that Musharraf gave India adequate relaxation on the Kashmir issue during his tenure.

'US tilt towards India driven by economy'

When asked about the recent downturn in Pak-US ties and the US' tilt towards India, the former foreign minister said the US tilt towards India is driven by economy, market and because of a wish to contain the rising power of China.

"Now let us ask ourselves, is US moving towards India because India is a nuclear state, or because it is a military power, no, it is people power and their democratic traditions, if we want to compete, lets compete on these grounds," said Khar.

The former foreign minister also termed Pakistan's entry into Afghan Jihad a 'mistake' and maintained that Pakistan's dependence on US is more in "our minds than on the ground".

She termed it as Zia's mistake for helping the US in the 80s, and added Musharraf had no option when it came to helping the US in 2001.

'Foreign office or political office'

Criticising the approach and the performance of ministry of foreign affairs, she asked if the foreign office has turned into a political office.

"The foreign office is busy nowadays in apprising the nation about some country's leader sending flowers to the prime minister or inquiring about his health," said Khar.

Khar maintained that Pakistan's current foreign policy is "reactive and not active" as Pakistan is not taking its own line or direction but is only reacting on the circumstances arising in the region or world at large.

"In 60 years, we have taught our children that our national identity is to hate someone, and we are doing it with those who are physically the nearest. Hostile with India and now hostile with Afghanistan," said the former foreign minister.

Summing up her answer, she maintained that the basic objective of Pakistan's foreign policy should be to serve the people of the country and not the pursuit of power.

Khar is right. The leadership from J&K needs to strengthen itself. Mirwaiz Umar Farooq is not the right man for the job. A far sighted leader with legal/lawyer background who has excellent political negotiation skills and who can rally the people of J&K to align with Pakistan on every front is required.

Iraq is in a state of total destruction, so is Syria. Have they been won over ?

How is it a win- win for Pak in J& K ?

. .
Thank god, at least there is one Pakistani that think that Pakistan cannot conquer India.
Sir it is not the age of conquering, it is the age of
How can India destroyed Pakistan,
How can Pakistan destroyed India.
