Pakistan begins talks with US on coalition support fund

Even after all these tons of opinion pieces, articles, discussions, resurgent Taliban etc. With less than 15000 soldiers U.S.A is still there. And everyone else around the world including me and you re sitting back and talking rather speculating about the imminent U.S failure in Afghanistan for the past 17 years. That's what I'm able to see. :-):-):-)

Well that is what I could infer. I still believe there won't be any smoke without any fire. :-)

Well then all the very best. :enjoy::enjoy::enjoy:
:) America’s diplomats to negotiate a face-saving deal—one in which the United States can leave without the appearance of losing. But there are many reasons to think this diplomatic gambit is misguided.

TOP U.S. Generals already admitted they have lost the war, but some Indians here still dancing like it's Saigon!

Even if I agree with you. After long 17 years the U.S and NATO are still sitting in the heart of Afghanistan, and at present there is no force that can force a retreat on them. I bet you will still disagree and you will have 1000 reasons for that. But I have only one and the fact is they are still there. :-):-):-)

They say a picture is worth a thousand words:

Why would I disagree? The U.S. is begging to cut and run, but it's ego and pride won't allow it! Vietnam 2.0

Let me ask you something expecting a genuine answer. Why didn't the U.S/NATO left in 2011 even after achieving their strategic objective of dismantling Al-QAEDA and assassinating OBL ???? :azn::azn::azn:

After-all that was the whole purpose of this mission. :-)

Kunduz Province! :azn:

. . . . .
I see you are not taking this seriously! Never mind then!

Or are you pointing towards the hidden (not so hidden) hands of foreign elements in Kunduz back in 2001 ???? Seriously I didn't understood your one-liner. :-)

.
Is it because of it's proximity to Russia via Tajikistan?

.
I would want to know why you think so?

Beghlan and the surrounding mountains have potential for Uranium mining:

Also Kunduz is strategically important because it is the only way connecting Takhar province and Badakhshan provinces, which play a critical role in the existing government. Whoever controls Kuduz, not only controls a large mineral rich area, also controls the ground transport links linking Uzbekistan and Tajikistan with the rest of Kabul.

Exactly. So atleast you also agree U.S have there own reason to keep their occupation alive with some reason or other in Afghanistan ??? That's what I was talking about from the beginning of our discussion. The had already met their stated objectives way back in 2011 (Abbottabad). They simply need some excuse to stay in Afghanistan. :)

The conflict is also known as the U.S. war in Afghanistan. Its public aims were to dismantle al-Qaeda, and to deny it a safe base of operations in Afghanistan by removing the Taliban from power.
Regime change was also the public objective---along with dozens of other secret objectives all of which failed.
Now, they're begging Taliban to come to talk to them and agree to some sort of power sharing formula. (They had rejected Taliban's peace feelers back in 2001-02)
A trillion dollar worth of investment going down the gutter is what the US has achieved---not to mention the daily upkeep cost for keeping the ANA "functioning" in the future. All is within the cross hairs of AT---be it Kunduz or Farah(Right on the Iranian border[hint: Chabahar])

Any guerilla movement will be happy with a stalemate (if you consider it to be one) like the one in Afghanistan.
to stay in Afghanistan
They can stay for as long as they want, it won't bring them any good---Casualties for their puppets will only increase along with the cost incurred on the failure known as Afghan govt and ANA.

Things didn't go according to the plan for them---who could've thought that the sole superpower will talk to rag tag "terrorists".
