I agree with most of your post except this part.

Not even the most deluded Pakistani actually believes he or his forefathers had anything to do with ruling anything, let alone India.

The fact is simple.

Bro we will have to agree to disagree here.

Pakistanis are basically Indians. They are not aliens.

Islam has a way of demanding unflinching revisionalism from its followers.

Be it from the peaceful acceptance of Islam by the Iranians and the settlement of Parsi traders in the Indian subcontinent to the peaceful acceptance of Sufi Islam in undivided India and the parallel adoption of the mantle of the alien invader by the peacefully converted populace.

You see and hear similar fantasies in Egypt as well.

Its as if war and subjugation and persecution and forced conversions never happened. A horrible blot on the pure name of the faith by its enemies.

But revisionalism is for the consumption of outsiders, and a balm to one's own doubts bubbling up from within. It helps to maintain the steadfast belief.

But it does not penetrate beyond a point. The core DNA retains the parent faith.

Who you are is hardwired by the parent faith of the parent soil of your dominant bloodline.

This is how a lion roars. he is not scared of hurting the Indians. LOL. In India he tells them on their faces the sentence about the Niyat of attacking us first and getting Kargil in reply.
