What's new

Pakistan army had begun test on MBT 3000

I could never understand this approach of "one step forward, two steps back". I mean if Al-Khalid program is going well, what is the urgency of buying a new type? It is not that Indians are fielding something better than T-90S, unless Al-Khalid (even AK-2) was not at par with T-90S and MBT-3000 is offering significant advantage(s) over Al-Khalid.

Sir AL KHALID is different class and we mostly like to have more than one Tank with us

my personal view is that what MBT-3000 offers will be loaded on AK2 (synergy) less the weight. 48T v. 52T

something big is cooking and it will have a profound impact......cant reveal the details though :-)

As I see it , Haider tank will only be built in slow numbers as it compares to replacement and retirement of other tanks. Ak-2 is only in concept phase.

Haider is one hell of a tank, modular in design, means alot of potential for upgradation for years to come.

AKs will all be upgraded to AK-Is.

Haider, AK-1, T-80UD will remain as the front line tanks.

First Haider will not be slowly build secondly there is no such thing as Al Khalid II the new Tank which we would show at IDEX is AL KHALID 1 the previous massive upgradation off Al Khalid was done but it was still called Al Khalid. At IDEX 2014 we would finally show AL KHALID 1

MBT-3000 uses all the mature techs derived from Type99 and 96G (the one shoot the cr@p out of the cheated T72B3M at the competition), it was mention on a Chinese documentary, its IR sensor is even one generation ahead of Type99A, and its C4SI is on pair with Type99G. so I guess its safe to say MBT-3000 can be a replacement to AK

Don't be naive, and don't fish. Everyone knows the reasons.
yes, the reason is technological primitive Indian cant make any workable modern appliances in defense industry, as simple as that

I think only if we start building Haiders slowly and stop AK production at 700 tanks, while doing replacement and retirement of other old tanks, we will better balance the budget.

Otherwise Where will the money come for building Al-Khalid I and Haider tanks ??

Haider will be the best tank in PA inventory, no doubt and certainly wont be cheap. Haider is a generation ahead to AK & T80UD.

On IDEAS 2014 defense exhibition, AK I will be shown and a mock-up model of AK-2 will be presented.
AK and Ak 1 Combined will be more than 1200 and around same number will be Haider and again there is no such thing as AK-2 that thing you are calling AK-2 is basically AK-1.

Sir if you want to talk about money than we should not be able to manage this big size forces in current budget let alone equip them we are being secretly funded that I am sure who I don't know but those genius who think no body is funing us than they should explain massive defense projects we are running and starting and buying
