True. That is the reason we were discussing the possibility of "expanding" on the projects and its possible benefits. It will be a long long term process but then again, it will serve us well for long term as well.Pakistan hardly takes this from the shelf we always make some changes and same will happen with the rifle which we would select and also with this AL HAIDER Tank which ever it would be
Al-Khalid is 46 tons 1200HPThis doesn't smell right. Surely they plan to forsake the Al-Khalid program if they're opting for an off-the-shelf solution? I can see the difference between Al-Khalid-II and this Al-Hayder (OPLOT-M). Same caliber (125mm) same Power-to-weight ratio of 30hp/ton. How can one be mid-tier and the other high-tier when they're basically in the same class?
@Arsalan @Dazzler
@Dazzler sir any pics from newly arrived oplet

AK-2 has nothing to do with Al Haider, dont know why you guys keep mixing them up. the high tier tank vs mid tier one. Get that in your minds folks. HIT has invested too much into Al Khalid series and there is no turning back. Right now, only Al Khalid-1s are churning out of tank manufacturing factory.
Ideas will reveal more details on AK-2, and ukraiinians have offered the 6td-3 for it.
Lastly, Oplot Ms are back for trials.
And No INTEREST has been shown in Altay. You really think Army will buy this overweight over priced behemoth?? Be my guest, never.
That is a vast overstatement considering 2 tanks were made in 2015
That I understand but apart from electronic components, there's nothing on AK-2 that would make a locally developed tank such as itself more expensive than an imported one. Let's not put those expensive electronic subsystems, for the time being, on AK-2 and induct it with AK-1 subsystems. We can upgrade it later on. That way we can achieve fleet commonality.no sir, have none.
there is more to an mbt than weight mate, look at the japanese type 10 at 44tonne while the type-90 at 55+tonnes, which one is a better system overall?
AK-2 will have a very advanced netcentirc and fire control system, we are talking about flawless integration here. the gun will be 50 or more calibre though 125mm smoothbore. the autoloader has been improved. powertrain, APS and other subsystems are all new designs. there is a lot more.
And no, none of the Al haider candidates are an even match for AK-2 apart from perhaps ammo commanility and passive armour to some extent.
its here since ramzan......its the peak of summer when we test them. Not in the fall of august.No not going back this is picture is from last time corrected these Pakistan Affairs guys. It hasn't failed again in fact after returning proper trials haven't begun yet
Does the T-90 have a foolproof active protection suite capable of stopping simultaneous projectile attacks?The T-90 is better then anything the PA has, anyone who thinks the AK will stand a chance against the T-90 needs a god damn reality check, its time PA looked at a new induction, upgrading the AK wont change much. the PA needs to employ new AT weapons at the very least and mass produce them, HJ-8/Baktar shikan wont do a damn thing against the T-90s
The T-90 has a battle proven active protection systems tested in syria. the T-90 has been ERA then the AK.Does the T-90 have a foolproof active protection suite capable of stopping simultaneous projectile attacks?
