What's new

Pakistan army had begun test on MBT 3000

.
I don't think adding more tanks does anything for the security, we should be investing in IFVs, advaced UAVs and helicopter gunships. buying tanks means nothing when they won't have proper air cover.the army is screwed if they fight india, the IAF will pound everything because our AF is so shit.
And we screwed you thrice using sooper dhupar indian junk.your point being?
i never knew the hawker hunter, mig-21s, canberra, chiftain tanks etc that represented the core of the indian armed forces were all indian made weapons.

.
So, when will China lend Pakistan something that is good enough for themselves to use? So far, all we see north of the Indian border are the cast-off junk that the Chinese themselves won't touch, and are unable to even sell to anyone who is not completely broke - MBT 2000, JF-17, and now this.
Contrast that to Russia offering India the very best in their arsenal, Su-30s, T-90s.

Still, at least the fact that no one else is in the least interested in all these weapons gives Pakistan the opportunity to claim they "developed" those weapons and feel happy about it, one feels so glad for them.
China designed those things for us and not for themselves it is your Arjun and Tejas which has proven to be junk our is getting better and better and being inducted in our forces

It seems it is turning out to be the most great Next Main Battle Tank purchase by Pakistan as well as a strategic move where China is looking for help in its defence industry.

How many Haiders will Pak produce or buy ? Can Pakistan economy afford it ? Al-Khalid will retire?

some say MBT 3000 is a copy of Abram Tank:

.
If we are going to purchase this tank then how many is PA planning on obtaining.

. .
we need to replace all our Zarrars from front-line service. the initial concept of zarrar was to have a updated tank for training crews for the MBTs like T-80UD and AK-1 and now possibly Haiders. total front-line tanks required are ~1,200.

Well 1200 we would have to produce at least 200 each year

. . .
this includes the 380 T80s, ~400 AKs and the balance would be a mix of AK2(?) and Haider.

Haider ?

Which Tank is that ?

Surely you're not suggesting that we're actually going to buy the MBT-3000 are christian it as the 'Haider MBT' ? Where would that leave the Al-Zarrars and the Type 85 IIIAPs ?
