we can keep living in the past, or learn and move on.That is not a good question reason is Kiyani and some names I can bring up?
as COAS plus next president of Pakistan (in coming year)Pakistan Army chief Bajwa’s term likely to be extended
A lot is going on in the region. I think his tenure should be extended for atleast 1 year. They can create another post of Vice COAS if it helps some of his work and the new guy can come upto speed before elevating him to COAS next year.PPP advises army chief against taking an extension

The Pakistan People’s Party has advised General Qamar Javed Bajwa to not extend his tenure as the country’s army chief.
“We believe that he won't take an extension,” PPP leader Qamar Zaman Kaira said on Friday. “When we gave an extension [to former army chief Ashfaq Pervez Kiyani], it was given out of compulsion.
“We said at that point of time that it's not a good decision,” he added.
Criticising the government over the arrest of workers of the opposition parties, the PPP leader said that the government tactics will not scare his party members.
“The right to freedom of speech can't be snatched even if someone is convicted,” Kaira said, referring to the opposition parties’ complaint that they are not being given media coverage.

PPP dont want Gen Bajwa to stay. is it because of close relation between Geen Bajwa and IK? scared ??
We also need him for upgradation of Mullah Diesal software
New Cheif will take his time to settle down Pak has no room for this luxury at this point when Deal with Talibs is close and US withdraw.
he should be extended to continue his Bajwa Doctrine . next batch of top brass is for General is doubtful to continue his doctrine.
I have always said that 3-years for a COAS is pathetic. It should be at least 4-years tenure. Within the existing 3-year tenure, the first 3-months are nothing more than the COAS settling into his new position. Then towards the ends of the tenure, another 3-months are wasted due to hand-over to the new COAS. So logically, the tenure of the COAS is 2.5 years not even 3-years. Same applies to CAS, and CNS positions.
As long as the morale does not get affected 18 months? Will give almost two years from now
Tenure of the COAS is irrelevant in the case as the institution must do the bidding of the civilian Government, as is required of them. It is the institution and the many arms working within it that set the delivery path of assignments and the best way to deliver them, it is not just the COAS.....who also incidentally is a part of the same institution raised to the level of COAS with many more potential COAS waiting for their turns.
