Given the tight-lipped nature of the military, we may never get to know the official reason as to why, but the current international political scenario, he is the fittest person to lead the Army in current affairs.just a question.
So you trust a single person, not the institution?
I criticised him at the time we are moving on but did not like inaction after the extensionwe can keep living in the past, or learn and move on.
because of one individual, you can not condemn and blame whole institution. there are people who like Kiyani too.
Chief tried to his best given the circumstances and situations in hand, it is always easy to blame people from past.
if he feels he is ready to retire it is his choic
Lolit would be better that he become national security advisor to PM.
By that unit of measure; the whole political elite should be sent to the graveyard; no kidding. They staying on top of the foodchain means that they want the law to act differently for them. What a Damn Joke! Politicizing the armed forces and denying next in command the deserving opportunity. Graveyard is full of 'crucial' and 'necessary' people!
lol what

Lahoreakistan’s Army chief, Gen. Qamar Javed Bajwa is likely to get extension in his term, reports said.
According to a report in Pakistan Today, its Editor Arif Nizami, commenting on the US visit of Prime Minister Imran Khan, said that while all the foreign visits are considered successful irrespective of the desired results, Imran Khan’s trip to Washington was successful from all angles and Bajwa’s presence in it was crucial.
Expecting term extension for the army chief, he said: “Currently, the relation between the government and the Army are good, which was not the case during PML-N (Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz) regime. Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, during his tenures, changed the Army Chief six times. Apart from this, General Bajwa is also crucial for the US as it is seeking his help to exit Afghanistan without further loss.”
“Looking at this prospect, we can expect term extension for General Bajwa, though we can’t really guess for how long.”
Nizami also said that Bajwa, who took over as the army chief in November 2016, is different from previous ones as he doesn’t likes publicity, while being known as an “intelligent general with leadership quality”.

from internal to the international political scenario, under his command we able to neutralize pretty much lot of Indian aggression. So far, he is experienced, how to handle the current affairs, and 2019 is really important for Pakistan, one slight mistake in Taliban Peace process, will cause a lot of collateral damage to Pakistan. I would say 3 three years for COAS is not enough. Should be at least 5 years,New Chief will take time??? Is this a joke? Are the other Corp Commanders and Generals incompetent that they will take time to settle in?
Any extension is extremely bad for the morale of the officers and should not be granted.
So either the Army Chief has lost the officers confidence, if we accept your logic of discontinuation of the current doctrine post his retirement, or the doctrine itself is faulty because of which the next Chief will discontinue it.........so which is it?
