PAKISTAN accepts joint patroling of afghan boder!

that was suggestion from Pakistan. Just to control the blame game, because Pakistan knows they can't do joint patrol with Pakistani military. We have huge army and opponents has extreme lack of logistic to get along with Pakistan organized Army and security forces.

if you are referring to my appeasement comment then u fail to understand my point.
we have now reached a stage where we r "giving-up" whatever leverage we had without getting anything in return.
take your point above where afghanistan does not have enough troops to marshall their side of the border and apparantly we think we do. so if there are 150 sensitive entry points along the border, and PA covers them all and AA covers 50%, and lets assume there is "alleged" infiltration in the 50% not covered by AA, what do u think will be the knee-jerk reaction - accusations that we r not doing enough. so back to square - one.
now lets take the GoP decision to allow indian transit trade through pakistan for afghanistan. by giving up here, have we not compromised ourselves viz-a-vie the shenanigans of the 7 indian consulates - it will be business as usual for them.
i can go on and on...

.
^^^the policy of appeasement continues. wonder when AQKhan will be handed over and inspection of our nuclear program starts??

Dear fatman17; sir
Well , you are very soft on the issue, but still i am happy about your thinking, that you are still, some of great patriotic pakistani inteullectual on this fourm, i would like to salute you.
its not only the , policy of appeasement but rather then , its a system of appeasement , which is being continues to let pakistan accept all the evil formula's of israel, bharat , & usa for the well being of GORA SHAHI?:tsk::angry:

.
Sir, when first strike from US drone came near Peshawar, Pak army sent the signal to US " stop right their" and rift started. Because it was all coming closer to N-research facilities in the premises of NWFP. Now they are shooting at US drones openly. We never heard before any fire shots at drones.
As far as passage to India, its only in statements, but Pak army or few other political parties won't allow for this. Its no doubt India is badly looking for transit for its economic growth. But we have bunch of stupid politicians who explore the economic growth toward Indian border, instead of western border, where more markets and more money.
Its sound Kiyani knows Zaradari mental condition. Plus for Zaradari its pointless to change CAOS, because army has no trust on Zaradari and some how on PPP, specially Benzair speech in India capital Dehli against Pak army and same silly act by Altaf Hussain, who discarded the creation of Pakistan.

Dear HAIDER;sir
plz, dont let COAS become innocent, he is the man behind ASIF(gahadari), its the open truth, from the begaining , he made himself the most trusted man in the army to gen.musharaf, then he was the man who tried to put soft corner for BB, in muharaf's heart, he was the man who promised musharsaf that once he took out his uniform , and he became COAS he would remain loyal to gen, musharaf & he willl be a power to force the politicains to accept musharraf, but look what he did?

now there is a no, way out for him cause CIA knows every bit of that, he have to support GHADARI, and ghaddari doesnt want to do this either because he is too afraid of other PA genrals... i guss!:azn::cheesy:

That is not a bad thing. This will force both sides to sit down and nail durrand line border.

Yes I agreed that principally it sound good if both partners are responsible and recpect to the sovereignty of each other.
While, one if any one partner of the joint team have bad intentions for some specific tasks, as we are continuesly experiencing deceitful threats and their clandestine activities against us, as such in veiw of the fact stated it may be a new trap which cud harmful strategically for Pakistan rather then fruitful as showing by them. They can enhance their influences, regular interference in Pakistan territory and freely attempts under the cover of Pakistani Partnership in the name of Pakistani forces... ..... Which may causes serious multiple impacts on Pakistan. Its imaginable:tsk:

Personally i think its good. Reduces a lot of the accusations from both sides, if they do patrolling together.

.
If ISAF training advisors are present to guide the ANA then this might have a chance of success.

Have the JP's been verified?

If they have, here is another idea to chew around.

How does this acceptance of JP's work into the possibly new dynamic of reconciliation with some Taliban factions in Afghanistan and their involvement in the GoA?

If the reconciliation does work out, the Jp's to me lose most of the concerns (from a Pakistani perspective) associated with them, since at that point the Taliban will have a stake in their success, and the targets of such JP's will in fact be the irreconcilable Taliban factions (such as the TTP) and the AQ militants.

Targeting the above would in fact be supported by both locals, Taliban, GoA and GoP.

best case scenario - perhaps but stranger things have happened!

But even patrolling is not going to help . Imagine Pashtuns live both side, those who patrol will be local pashtuns. Do you think they will care who is crossing the border? May be some cosmetic efficiency .
Answer is no solution in short term.Long term bring some economic prosperity in the that region. If tribal tradition soften and allow the aliens to provide some economic benefits.
