i dont have a problem with this but the afghans certainly will and the attitude of the west has been exactly that - hypocritical. in order to ensure effectiveness of the task force, these pitfalls need to be avoided initially and as the trust builds then the command of the task force can rotate amongst the 2 countries and the Nato forces, just like the coalition naval task force 150 operating in the gulf area.
Not much we can do about hypocrisy, but I just meant that Pakistan can argue that they are the ones begging for a Joint Force, and already being lead by foreign forces, therefore they should not have any issue with the Pakistani proposal, or some variation of it.
I imagine we would have ISAF, Pakistani and Afghan officers at the lower levels.
I suppose we shall find out in the days to come what reception the Ambassador's proposal gets.
