Pak visit for specific, narrow purpose: US Dy Secy of State

China has demonstrated its intentions clearly by trying to salami slice Indian territory or if you like the disputed border areas.
Perhaps you think we should lie down and just give it to them as Pakistan did with its border with China.

China has territorial and maritime disputes with 18 countries in Asia. Look it up.

It is flexing its muscles and baring its teeth at 18 different countries in Asia hoping they will just back down and will not resist the Chinese military juggernaut

Pakistan and maybe NK are the only countries that keep support these wild claims, even when those claims are against fellow Muslim countries.

You are not a very intelligent person.

.
You may have had the "better" part of the deal but you conceded to Chinese, land that is disputed

"Pakistan recognizing Chinese sovereignty over hundreds of square kilometers of land in Northern Kashmir and Ladakh in return.[2][3] The agreement is not recognized as legal by India, which also claims sovereignty over part of the land. In addition to increasing tensions with India"

WiKi

Pak does not claim Aksi Chin. Pak do claim Indian Ladakh. Pak do not claim Shasgam Valley which was always In Chinese control. Since you did mention Wiki, then you would also know that Pak got 750 sq miles from Chinese custody in 1962.

Also I say this again. China has land/border disputes with only Bhutan and India.

haha Indian media and their Saleem Lifafi journalist, and team of honest reporters

lets see what others say

This is a time when Pakistan should say loud and clear, we are not even interested in building longer lasting narrow band relationship with USA.

Please stop telling us to "Do More". Enough.

. .
Its a pity that our relationship with a superpower like USA is still dire. What would anyone else expect after playing the double game.

. .
You can bet we care, a lot in fact. When she visits Pakistan, you will see just by the protocol given to her. Despite the fact that she is only the deputy Sec. of State.

Those who have gulami in their blood and from a gandi nasal they'll bow. I see it daily in the US, from these "Yes, Sir" freaks who also think if they think along a white sab mindset will put them on par with them, you can see the same stain from those types on this forum as well.

.
So we double crossed them but these SOBs who robbed Americans are actually living g a luxury life in America .

. .
Sanction or no sanctions it seems current agenda is related to Air Bulevard, specifically for drone attacks in Afghanistan.

Yes, you are correct. However, the tone and statements are clearly not making this a "request", if you know what I mean.

Pakistan can't compete with Indian influence in the U.S not only because of India's geo-strategic value to the U.S but also the huge Hindu Nationalist diaspora in America. That voting blac is financially strong and vehemently anti-Pakistan.

You are right though that we must avoid sanctions at all cost. Pakistan has too many faultlines that the Americans can exploit.

The Indian diaspora and it's influence backed by financials is a bitter reality at this time. However, I do know a thing or two about this situation and it goes back to the 90's. If Pakistan wants to establish relationships on equal terms with the US or EU or other countries similar to it, it needs to learn a key fact. That fact is very basic but it's opposite of how Pakistan internally works.

Pakistan will need to send in Civilians in suits and ties and not make every relationship limited to military-military only. This is the bitter reality Pakistan needs to understand. Military to military relationships are always limited to conflict and events and when these things end, the relationships end too. Civilians to Civilians relationships are based on business and social lives. These remain. Just because the Pakistani military does everything in Pakistan and it's the culture, doesn't mean that the US and other similar nations would work that way.

.
The Americans are kidding themselves. Even a narrow and specific purpose cannot be achieved. The Americans need to cajole India and stop pretending they can gain anything from Pakistan.

I think we have to observe things with a more critical lens than this, we as a state when it really matters have not cowered to US pressure when the need is dire enough. The nukes are the best example, immense pressure, and at that time the US’ influence was even greater than today.

But elsewhere we do cave, they are still the prime military, technological, diplomatic, and economic superpower. And they only need to move the most minimal levers to cause us harm or pressure us.

Good diplomacy at times like this is vital. Our security establishment is currently aware of just how much harm the US can do at the snap of a finger, FATF and sanctions are a minor step for them, but for us it will literally lead to some hard to calculate extra number of deaths per year due to economic hardship. Morality really does take a backseat in geopolitics and diplomacy, so I think value judgements should similarly be relegated for decision making in statecraft.

Right now, the US is aligned with India, and our leverage is diminishing by the day. We don’t need to give them extra reason to come after us. What they are asking for right now according to what I’ve read, is that they want an air corridor over Pakistan to allow possible military strikes in Afghanistan whenever they wish. And they do not want us to unilaterally, or prematurely recognise the Taliban, they will only want us to do it when they themselves are on board. These issues are what the Deputy Sec. of State meant by a “specific purpose”.

.
1. Not the best way to start a visit but I’m not sure she has the emotional intelligence to think that deeply.
2. It’s an Indian audience.
3. Her reception in Pakistan won’t be as nice, prior comments by the Secretary of State to his visit showed this.
4. I can understand why the Chinese didn’t meet her.

It is the truth. She is speaking the truth. We are kidding ourselves when we think that any broad relationship can be achieved between US and Pakistan. An official at such a high level is simply confirming this. The US has very deep commitment with India. Pakistan is only useful for very specific interests to the Americans.

Pakistan isn't going to team up with the Americans in any shape or form. Our future and commitment fully lies with China and region. The visit is futile and irrelivant. The Americans are stunned at how quickly their sham setup in Afghanistan crumbled. Without Pakistan the Americans can't even move a leaf in Afghanistan now.

The American official is only coming for one specific request. They want Pakistani air space and preferably land to carry out over the horizon attacks to keep India happy. Nothing more nothing less. The Pakistan visit is meant to keep India happy. We are wasting our time here.

Don't give this woman any protocol whatsoever. Let her meet with ordinary officials and move on.
