I only have ford in mindWell that is what i am saying, Suzuki Mehran is cheap and there is no alternative option. Even the existing manufacturers like Toyota and Honda do not produce any Hatchback for this market. This is why i am saying that i hope new players will come in and change that.

My estimate is $12000 in Pakistan after paying all taxes
12000$ is too high, it would be some where around 7000$ to 8000$ or a peak of 10,000$, taxes depend on engine size.If it's 3 year old and in between 801-1000cc, online calculator says Rs 553,836 = $ 5285.71. That's only import duty. Then is 17% sales tax on duty paid value and two more taxes, can't remember this all hack. Giving you official pdf link for exact calculations.

I think, this tiba hatchback could be very successful car in Pakistan in maximum price $ 7500 (including registration). But this sale price is hard to achieve.

So it falls in 1501-1800cc category. Import around 2640$ and a 2 percent registration tax (2 percent of car's price). So add all that up, and you go broke....Engine

But importing Japanese cars vs other cars is different, because Japanese cars have a competitive importing market, hence their prices will almost always be either in a market monopoly or fluctuate like anything you've ever seen.Mehran is 8000$ on road, I think.
Has 800cc 3 cylinder Euro II engine, generates 40hp. No safety features at all, no air bags, no ABS.
You can calculate exact amount or compare it with similar category Japanese.
I will start importing if it costs 7000$ or even 8000$
FAW makes a 13000cc car. Costs 11000$. It couldn't break the market. If they could reduce price, they had already.
