Our people don't like these suzuki crap but settle for it because we are price sensitive.
What will we buy if we stopped buying this suzuki junk? honda?? A honda civic 95 is 6000$ in Pakistan. Here in the US it's 1500. Another downside is that we can't even import cars easily

So

With four, five or six of them in market they wont be able to act like Suzuki!

Others can't change the situation because suzuki mehran is cheap & affordable for people !

Well that is what i am saying, Suzuki Mehran is cheap and there is no alternative option. Even the existing manufacturers like Toyota and Honda do not produce any Hatchback for this market. This is why i am saying that i hope new players will come in and change that.

I sincerely hope that in the next martial law the khakis book suzuki in an high treason case----- Jan choro S.C hmarai

Take for example automatic transmission is the most used in western world, they had it since 2 decades back.

Automatic transmission has been common in cars for much longer than 20 years...however many Western countries just weren't interested in them and they didn't sell well. As you said it is only maybe in the last 20 years they have become popular in Europe. Europeans due to high gas prices/taxes were used to their little compacts with high fuel efficiency so a manual was the natural way to go as automatics were less fuel efficient.

In the US gas has a history of being relatively cheap so automatics took off in popularity much much much earlier. I don't know when automatics began outselling manuals but it may be in the 1960's. There are plenty of people who have been driving for over 50 years and have NEVER driven a manual.

As automatics in the past decade or two have closed the gap in fuel efficiency compared to a manual more Europeans started switching over to them. So that's the main reason they have started to become popular.

Now all we have to do is convince Europeans that air-conditioning isn't evil.

I think we should stop blaming suzuki, We should blame our people who are buying this crap. If we stop buying it definitely there prices will get lowered. Suzuki do not impose its products on people. it is people who buy suzuki at first choice.

No that's not the case. Suzuki, Toyota and Honda are actually imposed on people of Pakistan. They pay bribes since decades to govt. There is no other option and Govt doesn't allow any other company to manufacture, at least till today. Import of vehicles has so much taxes that nobody wants to even hear. What's the option left for middle class ?

. .
If Iranian firms are in position to pay demanded bribes, they can start their business even today. But they will be then sold on double or triple prices.

Problem is corruption and nothing else. Any rich man can start vehicle assembling business if this snake of corruption would not been there, like in China.

Guys ... i think iranian cars are far better than mehran junk !

Unfortunately car mafia in pakistan doesn't allow iranian cars in ...

Our car industry shifting to promising designs :
