PAK Navy successfully intercepts Indian Submarine, foils intrusion

He was snokeling ... no issue.. testing the waters for sure. easy detection and no brainer.

if there was an intent he would not be in this posiiton.

Just to clarify, india did not order AIP with their subs.
India cancelled plans to incorporate DRDO developed air independent propulsion (AIP) system onto the last two submarines being built due to a delay in its development..It was supposed to have AIP but did not get it..they might opt for MESMA in the future..but you are right the six Indian Scorpene do not have AIP as of now..

Congratulations to PN Aviators for successful detection and interception of second submarine in Pakistani waters. I am sure this CO will also get fired like the last one.

There has been some speculation which type of submarine this maybe. I would just call it a defeated type. What I can tell you for sure that this is not a Scorpene. Firstly, the ESM mast is different, and secondly, Scorpene is yet to have a a weapon incorporated in them (another take of sheer Indian incompetency), and the scorpene submarines are literally toothless.

Bravo Zulu to Pakistan Navy for further winning the confidence of the Pakistani Nation. Your force modernization is on the right path, and the results speak for themselves.

Maybe this helps:
In the immediate aftermath of the 25th February strike of Indian Air Force at an alleged target in Pakistan, PN issued TWO separate Naval and Coastal warnings. The warnings are meant to enforce naval and airspace enclosures during the month of March 2019, in the regions shown below. Both warnings (or securites) were issued on 25th February 2019 at 1500 UTC (2000 PST), more than 16 hours after the IAF strike.

Securite 022 pertains to Naval activity in the Arabian Sea, whereas Securite 023 pertains to possible Air Force or Air Defence activity at the Sonmiani Army proof ranges. At this point, it can be presumed that these warnings have been issued for the sole purpose of exercises, most probably as means to demonstrate operational readiness capabilities.

The IN submarine was detected 35NM (65km) away from the safety enclosure enforced by the Pakistan Navy. The enclosure was supposed to be enforced on 01, 04-08, 11-15, 18-22 and 25-29 March 2019 for conducting Naval Exercises. The submarine was detected on 04 March, 2019. A screen grab of the IR feed of the PN P-3C Orion aircraft (which probably detected the submarine) can be seen below:

Based on the information contained in the roughly 40 second long video of the IR camera feed, the location and course of the PN P-3C Orion and the IN submarine can be mapped, as shown above. It appears that the IN submarine was on a south-western course (240 degrees) when a PN P-3C approached from the north-west (160 degrees). The PN aircraft passed within 0.62NM (1.15km) of the IN submarine.

Note: Whether the IN submarine was snooping around Pakistan Navy's exercises or not, is up for debate. Similarly, whether the surfacing of the IN vessel was an intentional provocation or not is a question only the Indian Navy can answer. This recent footage is not an alleged recycled footage of the 2016 incident, as there are 2x visible masts in this footage. The submarine in 2016 footage had 3x visible masts.

Our subs should be fitted with nets I believe.. just like there are guns to catch a drone that's hovering on your house..

Fire the net from sub.. pull it in Pakistani territory, sink it..

Like Spidermen

A question Sir, was the P3 accompanied by PAF jets for protection ?
I’m asking because I can’t forget our Jawans in the Atlantic jet.
Thanks.

LRMPs like P3C have an endurance of 14 - 16 hours depending on the mission profile and a range of 120,000 sqm.
Fighters cannot provide protection to them.

Avoiding escalation.

But I agree with other member here, it is a cause of concern. What if they are pinging different locations to see response of Pakistan's security apparatus in terms of time and type, in preparation for a larger scheme.

From Modi and Indian chit chat it seems like they are still smarting and want to do something bigger

All those keyboard warriors who are saying that it was already on surface and snorkeling, so whats the big deal and it wanted to show it self, have no idea whatsoever about submarine operations. So cut the bullshit excuses and accept the fact that it was caught.

"NO SUB EVER WANTS ITSELF TO BE SEEN ON THE SURFACE", no matter what.

What actually happened cannot be shared, but the Kalvari class sub was located and then forced to come to periscope depth. After it came on surface this video was made with an IR camera, which gives the time and exact location of the interception.

What happened after that is also confidential, but when a submarine is exposed, it basically has to go back as the mission it was sent on has been compromised.

A submarine is designed to operate unseen, and even during peace time/transits/exercises it remains unseen. It is NOT designed to sail on the surface of the water.

The biggest blunder they did, was to send the Kalvari class, probably they were testing it's capability, but they exposed it's acoustic and magnetic signatures, which are basically fingerprints for every vessel and are kept a secret, and now we have them.

The CO of the sub will definitely be sacked due to his incompetence and tactical decision making.

Today PN retrd sub officer said , once enemy caught sub signature then its basically expired or no use. It can easily tracked where it goes.
