Pakistan no longer has same level of parity it once did in military and even economy.
Pakistan at no time in history had any parity against India what so ever whether it was military or the economy. At the time of our partition, Pakistan literally had no industry compared to the massive industrial machinery that India inherited from the British. Pakistan built herself from scratch, that in my opinion is an achievement worth to be proud of. India is 7 times bigger than Pakistan, thus naturally India will be able to deploy a larger economy and a military compared to Pakistan.
over the last decade India has left Pakistan behind in almost every sphere imaginable. Indian military has left behind Pakistani military by leaps and bounds.
I am confused, what exactly are the benchmarks you are trying to set here?
Indian military no doubt has superiority over Pakistan but does not has absolute conventional superiority over Pakistan. If she did, trust me should would have crushed Pakistan Army long time ago. Indian military's frustration are well known when it comes to dealing with Pakistan. Even after spending billions of dollars, Indian Army still does not has the answer to launch any punitive action against Pakistan Army. Indian Army is well aware of the fact that any punitive strike will face an equal retaliation from the Pakistan side. The balance of power is still roughly the same. India has not reached the point where it can punish Pakistan severely and come out unscathed.
They can no longer even think of pulling off another military attempt.
Their is no intent to pull out a military adventure against India. This appears to be the consensus that has been reached by the General Staff of Pakistan Army. The thinking has changed in PA to engage India and develop peaceful and friendly relations with them. Peace between both India and Pakistan will pay out huge dividends for not only both India-Pakistan but for the entire region.
Even their military recognizes now that they have been left behind and thus you see a clamour for peace.
Please explain to me how did you deduce that Pakistan Army has recognized that it has been left behind by the Indian Military? Did you have a personal conversation with the COAS of Pakistan Army?
If what you say was true, Pakistan Army would have at no point mobilized and dared the Indian Army to 'BRING IT ON' after 26/11. We all know that which side backed off after making public empty threats of a military strike. That in my opinion was simply pathetic because you don't make threats on which you cannot follow through with actions.
Its because they know that they will never be able to take siachen that they started talking about peace there.
No doubt taking Siachen is extremely hard. The habitation, vegetation and the environment serves as a huge barrier for the attacking party. As far as we are concerned, be happy at Siachen. It has killed and wounded more of your troops compared to ours. The military activity in this district is polluting the environment, but i am sure you wouldn't give two hoots about the environment.
Sit back and enjoy..in another decade even the last hopes of comparison with India will be dashed.
At no point in our history have we ever compared ourselves to India. Its like saying that Canada is equivalent to the US in terms of diplomatic, military and economic power.
