Pak Army is aghast at the defamatory and uncalled for statement about the senior leadership of Pakistan Army by Chairman PTI: ISPR

And it should not either. Har banda apna jawab deh hai. Two wrongs don't make a right. But at least make it clear that it is a wrong. Something cannot be wrong at one instance, but right in another.

The law should treat everyone with the same yard stick. The law cannot be person specific. If similar action had been taken against all those before who said such things, then aaj koi bhi aisa na bolta because they would know keh yeah, this cannot be said and is unlawful. But when X says it and isn't given a second thought, what stops Y from thinking yeah this is perfectly fine to say?

But as you said, jab kisi ki shamat ayi ho to phir kuch bhi nikalta hai. Jab saas ko bahu par chir chari ho to phir us kay ata goondtay huay hilnay par bhi masla hota hai :P

He can only do so much.

The magnitude of the floods is far far beyond the capabilities of any single organization, even the government I think.
Whatever Imran Khan is doing for the flood relief effort is a purely voluntary humanitarian action.
As an opposition politician, not having access to state funds, it is not his duty or responsibility to carry out the flood relief effort.
It is the duty and responsibility of the government, being in charge of the country's finances, manpower and resources to organise and execute the flood relief effort.
An effort in which they have failed miserably, as they have with everything else they have touched.

.
Not really fair to pitch a political party vs the government, don't you think?

He has already proved to a great extent he has thepopular support of the people.

I would think so, but some classic PDM voters not believe it till they see action in their areas.

.
The establishment is run by petty, thin skinned criminals who don't corruption to be finished in Pakistan. They thrive on corruption so would not be able to enrich themselves if Imran Khan got rid of all corrupt practices.

They dont care about Zardari and Sharifs corruption, because they know without them, they would be next in line to face accountability

Just presenting a couple more examples Gen Babar should be 'aghast' at:

So, these statements included accusing the military of doing Israel ki naukri, working on an international agenda to spread terrorism in Pakistan, and direct calls for 'ehtesab' of Lt Gen Faiz (who was at that time the DG ISI) I believe.

Mera khayal hai tab shayed DJ sahab ko 'aghast' word ka matlab nhn pata hoga...koi nhn.

Like children speaking out against their parents. Establishment doesn't take them seriously. They are their offspring after all.

Pak Army is aghast at the defamatory and uncalled for statement about the senior leadership of Pakistan Army by Chairman PTI during a political rally at Faisalabad.

Regrettably, an attempt has been made to discredit and undermine senior leadership of Pakistan Army at a time when the institute is laying lives for the security and safety of the people of Pakistan every day.

Senior politicians trying to stir controversies on appointment of COAS of Pakistan Army, the procedure for which is well defined in the constitution, is most unfortunate and disappointing.

Senior leadership of Army has decades long impeccable meritorious service to prove its patriotic and professional credentials beyond any doubt.

Politicizing the senior leadership of Pakistan Army and scandalizing the process of selection of COAS is neither in the interest of the state of Pakistan nor of the institution. Pakistan Army reiterates its commitment to uphold the constitution of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan

The ISPR further stated that senior politicians trying to stir “controversies” on the appointment of the military’s chief of army staff (COAS) is “most unfortunate and disappointing”.

It added that the procedure for COAS’s appointment is well-defined in the Constitution.

“Senior leadership of the army has decades-long impeccable meritorious service to prove its patriotic and professional credentials beyond any doubt,” the ISPR said, adding that politicising the senior leadership of the institution and scandalising the process of COAS’s selection is neither in the interest of the state of Pakistan nor of the institution.

Not just the military but people of Pakistan are aghast at the insults and the politicizing of the Pakistan army by corrupt politicians who can't face reality.

Is President Alvi bound to pick whom ever the PM picks or just take it into consideration? Presumably the President can just say no thanks to the current PM’s preference and pick whomever he deems best.
Regarding army chief President Just have to sign PM recommendation and he will do that.
Current controversy aside, President Alvi has a limited stature and and he lacks ability to assert even verbally. But with a powerful leader like IK, he will remain in the shadows, and may be that's better.

It is very clear corrput politicians suit military establishment.

How many decades long impeccable meritorious service did the dictator Ayub Khan have before his demolition of the constitution and rigging and propaganda against Fatimah Jinnah?

How many decades long impeccable meritorious service did the dictator Yahya Khan have before his demolition of the constitution and the separation of East Pakistan?

How many decades long impeccable meritorious service did the dictator Zia have before his demolition of the constitution and rigging and murder of Bhutto?

How many decades long impeccable meritorious service did the dictator Musharraf have before his demolition of the constitution and rigging and propaganda against Nawaz Sharif?

And the list goes on …

Their role in politics should be questioned, no army-personnel should indulge himself in politics. I am firm believer of this concept but at the same time I have no doubt about professional knowledge of above mentioned generals, they were all capable to perform their professional duty of leading Pakistan Army.

172 votes in National Assembly gives PDM the right to appoint COAS of their choice, Imran Khan Had that choice once but he didn't utilise, instead he gave an extension to COAS of that time.
Foreign policy should be decided by majority party in NA too, if Bajwa wanted to breach that power of National Assembly I would stand with Leader of the House, may it would be Imran Khan.

Prove that Army is involved in politics these days, I am with you. Insafis were on the other side when Army was with Imran Khan against PM of that time, they were happy when Army was hoarding "electables" towards PTI.
