Do understand, the bulk of our Surveillance System and the Cream of our Armoury is facing the East and not the West. The raid was unprecedented, this is why they caught us napping. The terrain is ideal for a Heli to fly low, mask its advance by flying between the mountains and avoid radar detection. It took years for the PAF to address this issue on our East, by implementing multiple layers of radar screening at lower and higher altitudes. We simply do not have the resources to install a Surveillance and Response System that we have implemented on the East on our Western Borders.

LOL MK. Pakistan has HQ-9's too (or the FD equivalent of that) with around of over 100 KM range. A few batteries were acquired after Salala check post attacks. One was stationed in KPK, about 50 KM inside the border (to cover for 40-50 KM inside Afghanistan) and the other ones at some strategic point right off the border to Punjab and Sindh to provide coverage to multiple HVL's (high value locations). A couple of tests were conducts around Multan area in 2013 I think,

I had a dream this morning.... where people were installing these systems, and following tests took place around areas close to Multan and Sindh. I woke up, saw this thread and wrote what I had seen in my dreams

Dear Sir, USA gave impression that their helis were stealthy further Pak radars were jammed, pls explain if u can. Pak has already deployed some SAM systems and obviously Radars towards Afghanistan. Further one senior member Viper from USA has claimed that HQ9 is deployed by Pak in KPK. Pls enlighten us if u have some info.

HQ-2B bhai they said its range is 100 but i consider 65 effective is better

Why are we fooling ourselves. Or can we not accept the truth. Couple of hours before the raid the forces were going door to door and telling people to stay in doors.
Look at it from another perspective. Even if we knew about the attack what would we have done? When you are surviving on their crumbs do you want to take on the biggest army in the worldand escalate the matter. It is not India that we are talking about it is USA.
Re OBL it is known that he had renal disease and was dialysis dependant. The cause of it is reportedly Marfans syndrome. Has anyone checked the life expectancy of someone with Marfans syndrome. Now anyone who tells me that some one with renal failure on dialysis can survive in Tora bora for ages and then come and reside in Abbotabad next to a big army centre and not be detected for years. Ahhhummm.
And lastly you are telling me that US was so considerate ofcthe feelings of the Pakistani people and the reaction of some cave dwellers that it did not take a single photograph of the most wanted man dead to show to its public when it has had no qualms about showing the hanging of Saddam Hussain and the bodies of his 2 sons and the murder or last hours of Qaddafi and took his body quietly to the sea and gave a sea burrial.
Our ACM gave a statement thatcthe radars werenot turned off but then did not clarify what happened at least not to the public. Subhanallah and we believe everything as gospel truth. Right I am out of here. My last post on this thread.

Looking at US wars in recent past, they only fight wars with assured victory..
They would never risk helis in a country with intact airforce and air defences... a single blip and those helis were a sittnig duck...

Pak knew but blow back from radicals would have been enormous..

soem say it was 'mutual' as US needed an escape route to withdraw that "we have killed US enemy #1" so pakistan itself gave away OBL position and turned blind eye on their arrival...

we put AQ khan stating he transferred on his OWN all nuclear tech..
no idea what military top brass thoght but that its better fro US to leave, with 'soem' dignity. anyway OBL is not accused for 9/11 on CIA website but just for attack on their naval fleet and US embassy.. so pakistan can win its case..
Moreover there are intelligence slippages (~failure) ..so whats big deal if isi "didn't" know and obls was found in abbotabad sub-urbs
