PAF Today: Implications for India - Gp Capt B Menon

Heavy weight-----IAF- Su-30 MKI------PAF- nil------PLA(AF)- Su-30MKK---> MKI is supreme here
Medium weight-----IAF- Rafale------PAF- F-16 Blk.52------PLA(AF)- J-10---> Rafale is supreme here
Light weight-----IAF- LCA------PAF- JF-17------PLA(AF)- nil---> negligable differences but the LCA MK.1A will have an AESA from 2018 onwards- this is pretty game-changing in itself.

Aircombat is not a boxing match and the sky is not Maddison Square Garden. I cannot even begin to note the sheer factors where this analysis falls short.

We all know your airforce gone under ground when iaf mirage, jaguar pounded your army men more than a month in Himalayan hills. At that time we hav only mirage, Jaguar non upgraded, after that we hav inducted 250 su30mki, we now hav 50 upgraded mirage, 100+ Jaguars, 100+ mig 29,. We have 450 high end 4++ generation fighters. Otherhand you hav measly 18 jets. Your airforce will be better of with bombing your own country man

Keep living in bollywood bubble, I dont need to waste my time proving the effectiveness of MLU F-16's, they have proven their worth in countless conflicts of the world and the effectiveness of JF-17 Thunders have been discussed to death on this forum, with many countries interested in it. As far as the kargil saga is concerned, the conflict was inside the Indian controlled territory, you were bombing NLI in your own territory, if PAF would have intervened it would be negation of the official stance that the resistance was by local kashmiri fighters and UN would have declared us aggressors , the moment your aircraft tried to enter our territory they were shot down including a MIG 21 and MIG 27, your govt even refused to accept your own pilot in our custody (Kambampati NachiKeta) , we had to hand him over to Red Cross.

Seriously? o_O

Its still ''plan'' ............ and when it comes to LCA, ''planning'' and delays are directly propositional to each other.

IAF should learn from IN. IN schedules and plans work much better compared to those of IAF.

Call them whatever you want. What type of up gradations they carry is more important. But its after 2020 and we are dealing with cases before 2020.

I do believe it will happen

You are adding new while keeping the old?
What about Squadrons of Mig21 and Mig27? Aren't they gonna get replacement first? And then addition of new squadrons will take place? o_O

Gonna increase, but after replacing legacy aircrafts. If IAF will grow in size, so will PAF.

With production rate of 24 aircrafts per year, PAF will be adding 8 more squadrons (including the recent sqd2)

Getting replaced, F7PG will stay untill 2022. All rest will leave PAF by 2020.

F16 MLU are bombing terrorists from past decade. Don't know from where you ''produced'' this assumption.

''Chinese copy'' have proved its worth in drills, will prove its worth in combat too.
AIM120 are part of F16 inventory from long time.

Yup.

BULL $HIT :tsk:

Your ''analysis'' forces me to not to take any thing coming from you seriously.
I wasted my time quoting every point and in the end realised that you are not the one i was thinking off. ROFL

Depends on IAF progress in FGFA. After 2020 very likely.
or May be PAF don't pursue this jet at all. Too soon to say any thing.

Young Man I would have appreciated you if you would have reverted with even 1 Post of relevance...

It is not wise to be Ostrich and put your head in Sand -- seeing Danger !!

All I will request you is Dont Poke your Nose, if you cant add Value...

@Mastan Saab pls guide this kid. He needs a Lolly Pop

Fifth Generation planes will take time to mature

Only F 22 is a mature product

There is a lot of work left to be done on ALL the ONGOING Fifth generation projects
namely J 20 / J 31 ; F 35 ; PAK FA

There fore India has gone for 4.5 generation RAFALE

As on Today Rafale is the NUMBER TWO plane ; in the World ; Behind F 22

4.5 Generation Planes will remain USEFUL for a Long time till 2050

They will work Together with the Fifth Generation Stealth palnes

Vice-versa Argument You use Are Lack qualitative Content Either in that Contest
Use of One Liners & Personal Attacks was Frequent Norm Represented From your Part Too.The Way use To Subdue @Abingdonboy Argument By Going Personal Sorry To Say It Not Nice Way to Be Qualitative Either
Oh is that the reason why you're crying. Its seems you have much pain. Its not as if he cant argue. so stop being his bond maid

Four IL-78 Multi-Role Tanker Transport (MRTT) aircraft entered http://www.indiandefencereview.com/news/pakistan-air-force-today-implications-for-india/
---------------------
This article indirectly stresses for the need of rafale so pakistanis should not start thumping chests. IAF is modernizing with heavy weight multirole fighters even though they are not a 1;1 replacement, its a massive enhancement of capability a fact carefully cloaked in the conclusion

Another article to boost budget resources for the IAF.

The PAF does not have the financial resources to maintain their air force. The F-16s are bought partially with American taxpayer dollars. The JF-17s which are souped up MiG-21s are from China. It ignores the poor state of Pakistani air defenses.

The IAF made a mistake in the late 1990s. They should have paid off the Russians to setup a MiG-29 factory in India. I believe the Russians made the offer for a MiG-21 factory.

It is all about Numbers

Till now with SU 30MKI ; Mig 29 Upgraded and Mirage 2000 Upgraded

Technologically IAF had a clear advantage

But with Rafale entering the Picture ; the situation will be terribly lopsided in favour of IAF

J 31 will try to pull BACK the advantage but then PAK FA is coming up well too

Two Rafales are equal to Six Mirage 2000- 9
Which is the most upgraded Mirage 2000 considered as equal to F 16 block 52

respectfully, this is just the soothing ointment that may give temporary relief to some PAF fan boys. The articles is full of mistakes..rather lies.

Goes for the info recharging PAF too.. 75 JFs have been produced.. And the superiority of LCA....The destroyed SAAB AWAC has been repaired... Pak operates several other EW/ELIENT aircrafts/helis .. But any ways.

I think EFT comes ahead in many aspects from rafale to become second to F-22.
@Blue Marlin what did you say..

IAF has LOST the qualitative edge? I'm sorry when did they HAVE the qualitative edge? I didn't get the memo.

It is PAF that has traditionally enjoyed the qualitative edge over their counterpart. Since the independence PAF has been equipped with the latest American and European fighters whereas, India has had to make do with soviet jets.

It is only since past decade that IAF has had an qualitative edge with the introduction of Su-30 MKI. Also, in my humble opinion this gap is only going to widen in the future with the procurement of Rafale, Tejas Mk1A (not even mentioning the fifth generation jets).

It looks like this as an analysis of Pakistan Air force from an Indian point of view. Some one should do an analysis of Indian Air Force from Pakistani perspective to get a balanced picture.
