Geo news is reporting that PAF has begun work on BLOCK III, and first BLOCK III will come in 2016. In BLOCK III all data will appear on pilot helmet screen. Two seaters version will also be introduced in BLOCK III.

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Air Force (PAF) has started initial work on the JF-17 Thunder Block III version of the multi-role fighter jet.

According to PAF sources, the multi-role fighter will be inducted in the Air Force in 2016. The Block III version will also enable pilots to see all required data on the helmet-screen.

The Block III version of the JF-17 Thunder will also feature a two-seater cockpit option.

It can't be BLK 3 in 2016 as i know, Features might be true. BLK-2 production has just begun and around 100 planes have to be manufactured first. 50 by Pakistan in 3 years and 50 to be supplied by China by the end of 2016.
BLK 3 work must have started but the aircraft will be delivered in numbers 60 by China from 2018 approx

Mahmood confirms that early work is being undertaken on a Block III configuration, probably to include enhancements to radar, avionics and weapons in conjunction with “chin” stations for sensor- or targeting pods. He was unable to confirm any connection between this program and the JF-17 weapons integration testbed (numbered 0213) which was built in China late last year.

Last few days back geo was showing an old video of Mirages and describing it JF-17's are taking part in Paris air show. They either don't know shit about fighters or they just make joke with the people of Pakistan

Oh really we have just started induction of blk 2 and aircraft manufacturing rate is about 15-20 per year minimally it will take 3 years to complete 50 and also their is also first export order than next blk

It will not be inducted in 2016. Its prototype will be ready in 2016, then 2 years testing till 2018.
