PAF shoot down IAF SU-30 MKI l News & Discussion

Block 52s are better than MKIs.



Thunders, Snowy Owls and Project Azm. That's the long term game plan. Once the war in Afghanistan cools down, F-35s may also be on the table.

In all seriousness though, I'm going to miss those Mirages. The little buggers have been with us for a while and have proved their potency.



Someone should look into that, because I've heard claims from both sides about who the papers belong to. I'm inclined to the theory that they are Abhi's though.

Only 2 fighters went down as per ISPR, so the 2nd one is probably a dual seater.



He got transferred to a Bison, a quick googling of his serial number confirms this as per members from other threads.



Again, someone should look into that.



Apparently, he was transferred to a Bison because he personally admired the aircraft more.



They can, but a 5th gen aircraft would be better.

Don't worry about the Rafales, they're a redundant purchase as 5th gen aircraft will soon be entering the game.



Either taken from Taiwan or a Viper fired it from the other side of the LOC.



Two Thunders, not a Flanker. It's too small to be a Flanker and looks nothing like one. The video is just poor quality, hence why it looks like it has two engines.

A more high-quality variant is buzzing around everywhere, just google "Pakistani F-16s found" and you will see it.

Obvious JF17 looks bigger or almost close to SU 30 from the ground angle if the JF17 flying at the lower angle as compare to Sukoi

I agree .. due to poor quality the jets might be hard to identify exactly but they are different.. not same .. can someone find the original video and post it here

1 - What we shown is the "papers of a pilot" who ejected. One that could well have been sent to a hospital where he then "expired". Those papers were not necessairly those that belong to "Abhi"

2 - We have reports of three parachutes which indicates between 2 and 3 IAF planes were shot down depending on them being single or dual seaters.

3 - We had a Su30MKI pilot in capativity as proven through videos in 2011 when we was a Su30MKI pilot.

4 - Is the flight suit that Abhi was wearing that of a Su30MKI or a Mig21!!!!

5 - The career transition of most pilots in most air arms is to go from lower tier aircraft like Mig21s, to M2000/Mig29 and then to Su30. At stage they either progress or "get stuck at a tier" if they cannot demonstrate growth an ability. It is odd to send a fighter pilot the "other way" of operating a lower tier aircraft once he has mastered a higher tier aircraft. Imagine the amount of training you need to provide for a Su30MKI pilot so that he can get the best out of his aircraft. Then think about the training you need to get the best out of Mig21. Think of how much money and training you are throwing away by moving a pilot from a Su30MKI to a Mig21. It won't happen !!!

Its like suggesting that a PAF F16 pilot will go back to piloting an F7. Not gonna happen. The career path in the PAF is F7->Mirage3/5 to JF17 or F16. Once the pilot is ready to take on responsibility, he will move to a lower tier in a leadership position and then move up the tiers as a leader again. At this point, chances are his flying career will be over and it will be a desk/management position.

Abhi was a Su30MKI rider, and the wreckage we have seen is of the expired Mig21 pilot. PAF is sparing India her blushes and lookign to stop it escalating any further.
Enough of the BS. It happens. For example my old man flew F-7s as an IP after flying F-16s from the mid 1980s till the mid 1990s (and that too as an operational IP).

Video is GONE.. i think the Indian moderators of Facebook, and Youtube are working overtime taking down videos that do not fit into the official Indian narrative.

These videos should be posted somewhere more reliable !!!!

It still doesn't explain the fact that it doesn't look like a Flanker at all. And again, it's clearly just a low quality version of another video circulating the interwebs, where it's much more clear two Thunders are flying.

You can clearly see the rotor. It's an Mi-17.

The likely possibility is Su-30MKI and not the Mirage 2000 because the Mirage 2000 isn't a dual seater. I say this because in a video I have saved with myself of the eye witness who caught Abhi, he said that he saw 3 parachutes come down; one landed of Abhi near to him, whom they caught, the other 2 went over the border, onto the Indian-occupied Kashmir (which also is in sync with ISPR's story that the 2nd plane downed went down in IOK). So, the plane downed was a dual seater, the IAF has said it sent a Mig-21 bison, SU-30MKI, and Mirage 2000 for interception, so most definitely the Sukhoi flanker which was downed.

Please don't give out ridiculous statements without any research behind them, don't be like Indians. Because one false statement posted in haste then floods the whole thread with a mob of Indians trying to discredit all the facts out there based on that one false report.

What shame until now , we haven't confirmed the second type of plane shot down.

well if it was of any benificial value--- we would have shown the proof asap-
but if it just confusion?

then it suits both armies-- to shut up

The eye witnesses seen 3 pilots coming down on parachutes. 1 landed in Pakistani
side who got picked by the Army other 2 ended up on Indian side. The jet is a twin seater
which got shot on the Indian side either a SU30 or Mig 29.

On 27 Feb PAF shot down two Indian Jets ...

1: MiG 21 - Wreckage fell in Pakistan and vent viral .. Pilot captured..


2: Su-30 MKI - The wreckage fell in Indian Held Kashmir




3: Three Indian Pilots were ejected from both Aircrafts and villagers clearly saw that and made videos from mobile..


4: DG ISPR confirmed that Pakistan had two pilots. One was being treated in CMH and other one arrested in the presser while in a tweet earlier he mentioned that two Indian pilots were in the area (implying that search/ manhunt) was on.



So now the question is as per sequence of events, Pakistan should have at least one more Indian pilot.

Why Pakistan changed its stance? and most importantly why India is silent about other two pilots?

Su30s were not allowed to go for hot pursuit as this is just a skirmish and not an actual war.

indian government in its own press release said that the response team included 4 Su 30 MKI.. if they sent it to intercept and there was credible threat from PAF why would they not engage? So i don't agree that they were not allowed to go for pursuit. According to Indian govt PAF violated their airspace.. so if we follow the indian narrative why would 4 Su 30 not help 4 mig 21 against a 24 fighter PAF strike package?
