PAF Future Leading Aircraft

Sir it was a flaw or miss communication between PAF and PA. The PAF was not made part whole operation so PAF was not mantaing required stocks for war situation. The same thing came suddenly on Paf and they tried to catch up with situation in best possible way. For F16s even if they are not updated they still can play an important role as second tier jets in A2A engagements. However PAF has to manage enough spares stocks or to assure their supply even in any future sanctions if they want to add up their F16 inventory.

When you keep spares during sanctions you keep in mind of war time situation / requirements too.

Do you really know what happened with PAF during Kargil war when they had to keep F-16s flying for CAP?? Spare stock of F-16 was depleted and it was not possible to keep F-16s on continuous CAP.
it wasnt depleted. it wasnt a war in which PAF was involved so PAF decided not to use war time reserves of spares.

Thank you very much.
Every one has its own opinion. in the end its obvious that we have not enough resources to buy a new plane.

and by the way being new here doesn't mean that a person know nothing.

Hi,

When everyone has an opinion---it is called CHAOS---.

Your posts reflect what you know or don't---.

Every 20 years old pakistani comes on board and re-starts from point zero---without having the training and basics of knowing the mannersism of a flowing discussion.

Hi,

That was Paf's management problem---.

The Paf generals were paid full salaries and benefits thru all the years of U S restrictions and and yet they chose the U S product---knowing very well the traps that would be coming.

That is tantamount to treason.

It is just anther SOB story by the worshippers of Paf---.

When you don't know about issue faced by military why you comment on them??

Do you know what PAF went through during 90s?? Have you seen things on ground??

Funds were not available and US was not allowing sufficient number of spares even from black market.

:hitwall::hitwall::hitwall: Another thread where all the fan boys can come and repeat the things which they already did in tens if not hundreds of similar type of thread.

1980's PAF was advised to buy M2k along with F-16 but they stick with F-16.

in 1990's during US sanctions a deal to buy 40 Mirage 2000-5 was just away from signing but PAF backed off from deal and year or 2 later they signed a deal with France for Rose Program..

in 2000's PAF evaluated Rafale, EFT but Signed again 18 F-16 and now in 2010's PAF is looking to buy a fighter jet to counter same Rafale which a decade ago they rejected/declined to buy...

In kargil due to sanctions the paf had a operational service of 30%on their forty f16S.this is well documented by former am tanvir who confirmed Pakistan had serious issues with spares during kargil.

For those advocating more f16 Pakistan needs to consider the 99% certainty of sanctions on your falcons .USA will not did you in away against India their strategic ally

Thunders and one new type are needed

imagine had pakistan signed that deal, they could have probably done the same with old mirage2000 what they did with mirage 3/5 rose

unfortunately we got stuck with f-16 whicih though has much bigger potential due to huge spares but is not available due to poor poltical situaiton

I agree that more F-16s are now undesirable but wanted to point out that availability of F-16 during kargil you mentioned was result of many years of sanctions. A short war lasting a month or two will not effect in that way, in such a case probability of shop or depot level repairs will effect availability more.

Youngman,

Either you are so innocent that you are clueless to what Paf has done---or you are a part of their deceit---.
