What's new

PAF F-16 blk52 Strike Package

Lol so this is what you came up with?? F-35 is not designed for dog fights , it does not need to get into one considering its radar system and stealth technology, it can shoot the other plane off from miles off distance before bothering about getting into a dog fight.. So a f35 Pilot basically never has to worry about being in a dog fight if ever , it is not designed for such purpose it is designed for long distance engaging ..

While F-16 is one of the best dog fighters of our generation cause of its high maneuverability and high turn rate ratio ...

So again, how is JF 17 better than F16?

Has it got better maneuverability than F16? Nope.

Has it got better weapons system than F16? Nope.

Has it got better BVR tech. than F16? Nope.

So you tell me 1 feature where it beats F16 that made you make such a abysmal claim that JF17 with Chinese avionics and lighter airframe is better than American F16 which is still considered as one of the best 4th Gen. platforms in the planet. :omghaha:

Lets looks at Areas of improvement that JF-17 Thunder platform offers to Pakistan Airforce
  • Air to Air refueling , all JF17 thunder fighter jets , have capability to refuel from an Air Tanker
  • SD-10 is as comparable to the AMRAM missile which offer great amount of accuracy
  • The new ASELAN pods we got enable for more efficient ground recon and ground missions
  • Duel Seat options coming in 2017 already beating F-16 offerings

Block 3 :
  • Brings better Engine
  • Better Radar
  • Better Targeting for Possible Targets
  • Our own helmet based targeting system :pakistan:

Biggest plus we can add any configuration as we need on our platform

Jf 17 is better than f 16.
there are two ways to compare two aircrafts and so far jf 17 have outperformed f 16s.
JF-17 better than the F-16 blk 52 :what: how did you come to this conclusion.

Pakistan can get the F-16 Block 52s if they are willing to pay for it. The issue was always money, not the ability to acquire them.

The F-16 line proposed for India will be for India only. Existing F-16 operators will be supplied and supported by existing channels. For Pakistan, it will be LM in US and its Turkish partners. So no worries there.

I would make a deal that for 32 F-16 Block 52 for an airbase in Eastern Pakistan (5 year lease). from there we could station a squadron of MQ-9,F-15E, and AC-130s.

For our needs at present JF17 works well cost wise and planned induction

When you add force multiplier options , better awareness of skies

and defensive ground units

We are quite happy with JF-17 thunder platform

The F16 if we induct more crafts we will see how things progress but our focus is now 5th generation platform

. .
F16 plays an important role however at present we do need to ramp up JF17 production , lets see if we add any more F16 units

Jf17 is just designed to fit into out needs
  • Freedom to do mods on tech is great flexibility
  • Usage for navy/airforce
Many analyst predict a 150/150 Ratio between F16 & JF17 Thunder , plus obviously a search for 5th generation craft

JF THUNDER is a light weigh aircraft where F16 is Medium weight so you are trying to compare apples and oranges.

Sir, some correction needed. The JFT "was" a light combat aircraft. With the new block (and retor'd changed to previous blocks), it is now going to be in the medium combat aircraft category.

Not apples and oranges the dynamics of thunder and f16 are all equal and capable defensive platform

Block 3 will push the platform further for Pakistan

  • Once the Helmet based Tech are introduced in block 3 & new engine / radar we will be really flying the thunder to new heights

Not in load carrying capability or range (or electronics presently). We should remember it is the F-6/A-5/Mirage replacement and was not initially meant to replace the F-16 (or even F-7PG for that matter).
JF-17 was meant to replace the F-7P. The F-6 had retired before its induction, so replacing F-6 was not possible.

JF-17 height is low, carrying ra'ad is a problem. improvement required.

Not when the initial program was started - speaking in a historical sense here. But you are right, the F-7P replaced the F-6 as one of its targets by the time development re-started. Anyway, it was being designed as an inexpensive CAS/strike aircraft requirement even in the early 2000s. Became a much improved multi-role platform as the decade progressed - as posts later than mine have shown so beautifully.

That was Sabre-II program which was the initial program somewhere around end of 1980's, probably 1987-88. This was later transformed into Super-7 program and cancelled in early 1990's.

JF-17 program started in mid-1990's, around 7-8 years before retirement of F-6. I find it strange that a project on paper and board was meant to replace an aircraft (F-6) due to retire in next few years, its mind boggling to see PAF had such plans. In fact, JF-17 took first flight after F-6 retired.

If what you way is true that JF-17 was meant to replace F-6, then all i could say is, what was PAF thinking !

same program, same requirements rebooted to become jf-17. anyway, we are getting off-track.

the question was the capabilities of the jf-17 vis-a-vis the Blk 52 and that has been answered.

That's why Pakistan probably looking for SOM from turkey for JF-17.

Those 8 F-16s were coming with a very expensive price tag which was not affordable for Pakistan. We could have used those funds on JF-17 Block-III to make it a more advanced sniping and targeting aircraft to fulfill the needs. Americans are a big country with big defense budget. They should look at the history and importance of US-Pak relations. 1-2 billion $ assistance in counter terrorism is not a huge price. Our soldiers are doing their best in land and air.

I thought the MLUs were exclusively used for bombing within our territory, while the Block 52+s were kept flying out of Jacobabad sniffing out Indian Radar Signals. Well, shows how ignorant I am.

Albeit, the MLUed are used extensively for daily operations, however the Block-52s have also been deployed for special missions, the image in OP shows one such platform flying over rugged terrain on Taliban hunt.
Did hear positive things about the excellence of the PAF in the SEAD sorties at Red Flag.
From preparations, delivery & executions, maintenance and integration.... plus a few other classified tasks, it was across the board.
Is that a practice run on a training range?

My understanding was that the Waziristan bombings were carried out from Low-Medium Altitude with one small PGB on each target at a time.
That particular shot is from a firepower demo.
