PAF EQUIPPED WITH LATEST TECHNOLOGY TO RESPOND ALL THREATS: AIR CHIEF

For that you need EW systems, like ASELSAN KORAL, that can deceive the enemy to detect phantom images to render complete delusion to both man and machine..

For every disease there's a cure as per our belief system. S-400 is no exception as humbly shown by the Turkish folks with their ASELSAN KORAL system during the Syrian crisis.

If India gets S-400 after some years, parts of Pakistani airspace will be within its firing range. Since most PAF Airfields are 100-200 km from Indian border, S-400 will become a threat for its aircraft even in Pakistani airspace. Being a land based EW system, can KORAL jam S-400 missile guidance within its 100-150 km range ? And since PAF has less $$$ available, how much will each system cost ?

Pakistan purchased 3 EW systems two years ago. But, the type's name was not reported.

10 if bought off the shelf, still 25 (400 missiles/ main reason is deterrence and real capabilities against a large air force) or more is best, mostly if Pakistan can make them locally through ToT..

With little money in pockets, purchase of even 6 systems is going to be difficult. It will be purchased in batches AFAIK.

Hawk? Nike? F-4? What decade is this? The 1980s?

I hope Pakistan isn't predicating its defense network on a three decade old NATO plan and concept type.

Sorry for being nitpicky:D.

.

I could not find any graphic of the Pakistani air defense, this was just an example to explain the laymen reader here how an air defense network CAN work, it's not only about the range of Sam and numbers, what our non-military PDF members think, there are many more factors. Could you please make a good graphic of all Pakistani weapons and radars which are integrated into our air defense network ?

Seriously I don't understand 100% the figures, if you do so, can you tell me how many guns they did get for 230 Million US Dollars ?

The Turkish folks claimed that the range (not officially stated) is OK to nullify S-400 during flights within her border. The systems have been already deployed. I have seen no cost info in the Turkish sources. As for PAF vs ASELSAN- where there is a will there is always a way.

The Turkish Air Force officially received its first locally designed Koral land-based mobile electronic warfare (EW) system from Aselsan on 22 February.

According to an information note released by the Turkish Under-secretariat for Defense Industries (SSM) on 22 February, Koral is able to search for, intercept, analyze, classify, and find the direction of multiple conventional and complex type of radar signals. It also has the capability to jam, deceive, and paralyze hostile radars. It can either be set to automatically respond to hostile signals or it can present suggested options to an operator.

Koral was developed by Aselsan for Turkey under the Land Based Stand-off Jammer System project, which was contracted in July 2009.

A complete Koral EW system includes four Koral Electronic Support Systems (ED) and one Electronic Attack System (ET), each mounted on an 8x8 truck. The vehicles can be up to 500 m away from each other, communicating via fibre-optic cables. The system is reported to have an operating range of 100 km, although no official operating specifications have been issued by Turkey.

Speaking during the handover ceremony, SSM head Ismail Demir said, "We've seen how important electronic warfare is in recent wars." He added that he hoped Koral would lead to the development of an Airborne Stand-off Jammer too. The Turkish Air Force is currently evaluating proposals for such a system, with options including commissioning Aselsan to create one or purchasing one from abroad.

PAF is also looking for low to medium level radars to replace old Siemens Mobile Pulse-Doppler Radar (MPDR). Wonder if Aselsan can provide a solution. A modern air search radar (jam resistant) integrated with Koral EW system and HQ-16 / HQ-9 SAMs would set a**es on fire in neighboring country. :flame:

Due to USD shortage, I believe PAF may skip purchase of a new 4.5 Gen fighter and focus on making JF-17 Block 3 an equivalent fighter (with better equipment & weapons like an AESA radar, IRST, modern EW systems, ASELPOD, A-Darter HOBS missile, Marlin or PL-15 BVR and last but not the least Raad nuclear capable ALCM ). It is good to buy second-hand F-16s and then look to upgrade them (to MLU standard or F-16V in the future).

84 AA guns & 42 radars for 250 million USD.

3 Million US-Dollar for one Unit, 42 Radars means 42 new AA Gun Batteries, is not bad, one Radar 2 GDF Guns supported by ca. 8 Chinese made (upgraded in Pakistan) 37mm and 5-7 12.7mm AA Guns is a powerful AA network Batterie.
@Sarge ap ka kia chial he is bare me (I know you had explained that in the past, but may be you have also some thoughts to argument for that Deal or procurement).

This is like saying if Pakistan gets a 2000 km range Radar the Indian airspace will be within the firing range of near the borders surface to air missiles and AA missiles..

And made in batches too I guess, so in the long run. let's say a decade or so there might be 15 or 20 systems and more with time..

PAF will not take S-400 threat lightly just like Turkey didn't. S-400 has firing range of 400 km. The range of its radar is much more. EW systems like KORAL will become inevitable.

NO NO. HQ-9 is not that cheap. Each system costs 250 - 300 million USD and Pakistan does not have so much money. PAF will likely go for 6 -12 systems.

12 systems are ideal, more means when it is possible..

10 - 12 systems are ideal. They will ensure AD for the Eastern sector. When we talk of 125 or 200 km range of HQ-9, it means radius of intercept and not firing range.
