Osama Bin Laden: Pakistan press lambasts governmen
Pakistani papers condemn the government for having failed to detect the presence of al-Qaeda leader Osama Bin Laden in Abbottabad, terming it a "great embarrassment".
The press says that it was enough to make the US ask Pakistan "very difficult questions", and urges the authorities to take a stronger stand against terrorism and explain whether Pakistani forces were involved in the operation to kill Bin Laden.
A few papers express disbelief about Bin Laden's death and the manner of the operation, dubbing it an attempt to boost the morale of US troops in Afghanistan and President Obama's re-election campaign.
Two papers call on the US to quit Afghanistan, saying it now has no right to be there.

ISLAMABAD: While the world seems eager to join in the jubilation of the United States over the killing of the world’s ‘Most Wanted Terrorist’, Osama bin Laden, speculation is rife among Pakistani intelligence officials whether the men killed at theOsama bin Laden at all.
“Isn’t the picture of the person riddled with bullets, released by US attackers, of Osama’s son who was killed during the operation?” an official attached with investigative agencies questioned. He is not the only one in Pakistan’s intelligence agencies who finds it hard to believe, given the sketchy evidence, that Osama bin Laden was present in the hideaway when the attack was conducted.
“This is probably the second, if not the third, time that Osama bin Laden has been killed or died a natural death,” a senior intelligence official told The News on condition of anonymity. “The story has such wide, gaping holes in it that it’s hard to fully believe it, even for a gullible person. The main question is: why were US forces in such a hurry to leave the compound? Why could they not wait for some credible Pakistani authorities to join them after they had successfully accomplished their task?”
Intelligence officials here say even if they could believe that there were genuine fears of intelligence failure if the US had made its intentions known to Pakistan, the US should at least have taken bin Laden’s dead body to the Bagram Base in Afghanistan and let the leaders of partners from Nato and other countries have a look at the corpse of the world’s most wanted terrorist.
“The haste to get rid of the body has created some very serious doubts about the whole operation and about the US claim of nabbing Osama bin Laden,” said a senior intelligence official. “This time, the US kept everything under thick wraps, which has raised intense suspicions.”
When questioned about the statement by US authorities that the video film of bin Laden’s burial would be released soon, the intelligence sources questioned, “What is that going to prove? Who is going to believe whose body or remains have been photographed, videotaped, wrapped in that shroud and dumped into the ocean from the deck of an aircraft carrier of the United States of America? How will that be enough proof that the body in that bag, dumped into the ocean, was Osama bin Laden’s?” he asked.
Another suspicious piece of information is American authorities’ claim that the blood sample of bin Laden’s sister, who died of cancer in the USA a few years ago, matched the blood sample of Osama bin Laden, taken after he was killed in Abbottabad. “The problem is, Osama was one of 54 scions of Muhammad bin Laden. Why did American authorities not take blood samples from the brothers and sisters who are alive and healthy; why did they match Osama’s blood samples with a deceased relative?”
Yet another interesting question is why the Americans did not preserve his body for a proper DNA test and formal burial. “What was the hurry, first to take his body directly to the aircraft carrier docked somewhere in the ocean, and then, within hours, to perform his last rites, which the Americans claim they did in accordance with Islamic guidelines? Why get rid of his body in this way, by throwing it into the ocean, so there is now no chance to recover his remains and confirm that the deceased was actually Osama bin Laden?” a senior intelligence official told The News.
A security official added: “Why should anyone believe that bin Laden hasn’t been dead for a long time now but the US decided to tell the world only when it has to start pulling out of Afghanistan and the next presidential election is around the corner (2012)?”

The reason behind the hasty burial at sea provided by the US is BS. They could have used any number of reasons to delay disposal of the body for a few days and keep it on the carrier, and invited international journalists and officials to validate the identity.
