Opposition Rally in Dhaka - Potential Turning Point in Bangladesh

. .
Just now Bangladesh Nationalist Party has announced countrywide General Strike on March 29.

Meanwhile ruling party cadres are seen active on the streets carrying bamboo and harrasing civilians. Such activities are silently endorsed by the members of the law enforcing agencies.

Bangladesh Awami League led 14-party alliance government has imposed ban on telecasting the LIVE coverage of the lecture of BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia. Meanwhile, transmission of three private television channels, namely - Bangla Vision, Ekushey TV and Islamic TV on country's cable TV network are already snatched off by the intelligence agencies. :disagree::angry::disagree:

thing is bangladesh had so many rallies of such kind and hartals that our police is highly experienced to suppress any demonstration. Add to that rab (which is a democratic joke), mobile court and our paramilitary, it is impossible to stage anything in dhaka. Bangladesh's democracy died as soon as awami league inducted the mobile court, this system is so wrong at so many levels that you can write a big *** book on how many levels this mobile court system is purely wrong. They should change the name of bangladesh supreme court to the fascist court of bangladesh.

sabotaging the private tv channels will only backfire. atn bangla has the highest reach out of all the bangladeshi tv channels around 40%, the rest hold a very minor demography. Banning these tv channels will only lead to more public curiosity...psychology 101

What i was expecting this rally was not that big as seen on TV . because must be many worker failed to reach Dhaka as govt cadre and law enforcing agency harassing transport owners and halting every Dhaka bound vehicle . Govt have partialy succeded in minimizing opposition worker entering capital by the cost of general peoples suffering .

Bangladesh opposition protest draws 100,000: Police

DHAKA (AFP) - More than 100,000 opposition supporters gathered in the Bangladeshi capital of Dhaka on Monday to demand the government step down and hold elections, police said.

The biggest opposition demonstration since the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) suffered a landslide defeat in 2008 polls was largely peaceful as thousands of armed troops patrolled the city.

Local media reported that supporters from the ruling Awami League attacked one group of protesters with sticks, but there were no serious injuries. A small blast also exploded 1.5km from the protest site.

'There were more than 100,000 supporters at the rally. They spilt into roads and open spaces near the venue,' a senior police officer who declined to be named told AFP.

yea it was just like any other common rally..

After the unprecedented usage of state muscles, large number of people still showed up that overflowed the dalal's permitted area. So, it was little more than a common rally and the encouraging sign was that persisting pressure was building against the dalals but those RAWAMYS wouldn't simply go away without war since they were put in it by Bharati-Anti Christ's nexus as part of their global domineering plan. I'm afraid as that part would be the bloodiest one and BNP led patriotic alliance might lose out on it since they were cunningly made unarmed and defenseless whereas RAWAMYS were led to build several inter-external layers of it to arm them up to teeth. It seems like dark days are ahead of us.

A corrupt politician like Lalu parasad can do more than this (more than 2lakh people) in city like patna so if Hasina collect 1 lakh number even in a capital .... its a big fail

.
i am pretty sure lalu prasad wasnt blocked by the government with your bsf and patna's roads were not blocked by the police.

At least 30 lacs (3 Million) that means 10 folds of your assumptive figure. It also demonstrates that you-Bharatis are at least 10 times delusional from BDian's wishes.
