Having a choice to procure best weapons from many countries is an advantage.
Those tankers taking different route can also be targetted.
not an advantage when you only have 15 days of ammunition and rely on imports after. that is if they are even able/willing to deliver, then for more sophisticated items like missiles there is a lead time before they can deliver even if they wanted to, nevermind real time consuming equipment like actual fighter jets, if a Rafael goes down india is unlikely to replace it until after any war is done and over with, if a j-10 goes down, china already has 10 more on the way to replace it.
its also a nightmare logistics-wise, you got AK variants with its 7.62 x 39 , you also use nato 5.56 and nato 7.62x 51 all used in similar roles. worse yet, you import even 5.56 rounds lol.
what happens when russia delivers anti-ship missiles but Israel doesn't send its barak-8 ? go on mission without any air defence?
the whole premise of this thread is dumb as a rock anyways. Indians have zero ability to blockade the malacca straits. india is behind the china in literally every single way possible, whether that is in qty or quality, you got 36 rafael, china's got 100+ actual 5th gens. you got 4 p-15A/B destroyers, china has like 24 052D destroyers, never mind the 055. you got t-90, china has type-96/99, but also type-15 for use in high altitudes. you got bramos, china has actual hypersonic missiles and gliders.
simply put, china isn't armed and trained to fight india, china is armed and trained to possibly fight the US, and while it is currently only capable of that in its immediate neighborhood, india is a military midget compare to the US and would get slaughtered attempting to do something as dumb as fight china by the malacca strait or do anything other than defence with its jets(occasional targets of opportunity aside).
