Open Discussion: Myanmar and Bangladesh Armed Force

You need to getting the idea on how procurement of any platform will always be accompanied by another support and infrastructure items. Even if you bought the exact same of fighter like the previous one you had, let said, Mig 29 you must considering the limit and ability of your current infrastructure to hold and maintain them. If Bangladesh is full of dough like what you said, there is no need for your Air Force to keep, maintain and bought such oldies like F-7 BGI in first place as stop gap unit. Not to mention, Bangladesh Air Force had other priorities besides fighter, like what the Hercules and other carrier fleets you had is very old and need replacement ASAP, more modern Ground radar unit and station to augment your early detection capability and so on.

For Myanmar, if they can bought more Mig-29 fighter, they will not to chose JF-17 at first place. So funding is a big issue for them

As far as I know, BD is urgently needing 2 squadron of fighters, one maritime strike group and another air superiority multirole. Last time our air chief said that they are actually more concerned about weapons suite and avionics not the delivery platform itself. They are shopping around. BD usually buy on credit and I am sure they could pull some 4 billion dollar from either Russia or Chinese and can be paid back in a decade or so.

See, that argument may work for Myanmar as we actually have to plan for far bigger threats like Thailand but it doesn't work for you as the only other country you face is India and there's no chance of anything meaningful against them. So your only objective is to attempt parity with us (which you don't have). Don't be a clown all your life, iadjani, spreading your deluded ideas about the world. Just answer the question.

I dont think BD ever tried to have parity with you unless BD would had bought everything that you bought from AD to tank or even ships. Its the other way around. When we asked China to deliver us two 2nd hand frigates, your general rushed brought 2 junks from them before we got them. Then when we ordered Yak you also rushed and bought Yak, I can show you 100s of example.

That's not parity. That's maintenance of superiority. When you have more and better of something than what someone else has, that is superiority. Difficult concept to follow I know but try.

Ok you are trying to maintain superiority, we are not. Thats ok with us. We know Myanmar will be busy with itself for probably another 5 decades.
Our planners have something bigger in mind.

You have something in mind that is bigger than surpassing your superior? I... see. Anyway, answer the question, please.

OK, let us see if you are right or government of BD that has stated 4 squadrons of modern fighters by 2021 and 10 squadrons by 2030.

if your government is seriously tough about procuring 4 squadrons of modern fighter by 2021, at least, right now they had placed initial order for a batch of fighter like what we did with Su-35 and F-16. But so far there is no news about them, the only thing happened is, your government had almost exact planning like what other Air Forces will do, that's is to build the around infrastructure first and then when all the things is set and done they will move further by acquiring the batch of trainer fighter, not in large number but sufficiently enough to see the fruit of their hard work to built the infrastructure and adjust them with the surrounding plan

I said we are more concerned about India not Myanmar. Why are you trying to prove yourself as our enemy? Is it something gives you orgasm?

Nothing from your country can get me off. I guess the answer is you don't have air based anti-ship weapons then. You could have just said that, you know.

we need them urgently coz at the time our flagship is just a corvette.. we realized extremely weak to counter any external threat.. then we were focusing what we need to do in navy.. now u can see that tree is bearing fruits..
in past 8 years.. we built
3 frigates , 2 corvettes , 2 49 series FACs and dazens of gun and missiles FACs ,6 LCM , 6LCUs. and more are building.. that's not parity.. just fixing the errors.. :D

in case of Yak , we dont rush.. our negotitation started in 2014.. finalized in 2015 and delievery start at the end of this year.. may be even starting before u.. or not different time interval between us..

if so we can also say that we assembled K-8w , u tried to get them.. when we got license built Igla-S locally.., u tried to get that of QW-2.. and again we bought Mi-24P , u followed with order of more Mi-17 V5 attack version.. so can we say u're following Myanmar way..? Actually , no.. both armed force are just following the way of own road map or long term programme.. nothing more nothing less.

This seems true apparently. We have said it 100 times that Myanmar is not a threat to us but they are determined to prove themselves as our enemy anyhow. :D

As I have said earlier,Bangladesh and Myanmar should be the best friend. Both BD and Myanmar faces threat from regional bully India. If I am not mistaken Indian have violated Myanmar's border not too long ago. They want to see BD and Myanmar quarrel over petty things,so that they can get away with bulling. We should not fall for this trap.

well.. we also claimed thousand times that BD is far out of our list.. i dont mark none of our neighbour as our enemies nor trying to prove ourselves as any one's enemy.. as we said , we're just following our long-term programme by taking lessons and fixing errors.. that's all.. :D

Bro in that case you should have opened a thread on "modernization of Myanmar armed forces" or like "future procurement plans of Myanmar" but here, you are just comparing Myanmar with Bangladesh and trying to show that Bangladesh is the biggest enemy of Myanmar and vice versa. I don't know about Myanmar government but Bangladesh never took Myanmar as an enemy or a threat of any sort.

That's funny because before we showed you unequivocally that we have the superior military, the talk around these forums was about supporting the Rohingya insurgency and retaking Arakan . Now it turns out we're not enemies. That's good. I guess if you want peace you have to carry a big stick.

It was always bongos who have been calling us Burmese out and started threads about us in the BD section like here:

https://defence.pk/threads/myanmar-armed-forces-thread.187277/

https://defence.pk/threads/bgb-on-alert-on-myanmar-border.186057/

https://defence.pk/threads/who-will-win-in-a-bd-myanmar-naval-war.165298/

It was even a BD who wanted this discussion in the first place. But that's fine. Think twice before running your mouth off and know your place in this world.

Currently BD cannot defend it's ships against a Myanmarese air-attack but things will radically change in the next 5 years when 3-4 squadrons of 4+ generation fighters and 2 modern frigates are procured into the BD military.

Your post is well taken. But I fail to see how potential squadrons of fighters (we have to wait and see what actually happens) can provide much help since they cannot be always provide air cover to a dedicated maritime operation (ignoring they might be needed elsewhere) unless you want to stay completely predictable and be limited to near-coastal operations. In which case Myanmar has even more options.

As for the modern frigates to be procured, what are the updates/specifics on this?
